We installed eavestrough on a house for Mr [redacted] on Jan 23/15. I received a call in the spring that he said there was problems with the eavestrough and we were told to "come and rectify it." He said it was dented. I explained to him that...

there are many things that could have damaged the eavestrough. Being through an Alberta winter, snow or ice can cause damage. It could have been that the house shifted, or settled a bit, as this was a new home, also can cause damage.These being out of our control we cannot be responsible for replacing it. ( It states on the bottom of our invoices we are not responsible for snow and or ice damage. ) As he stated " the eavestrough was fine when we left the job so he paid us." He kept asking why we do not stand behind our work,. I told him we do stand behind our work that if it was a leaky corner etc we would come back and fix it. I offered to give him our suppliers phone number if he thought it was defective material. I told him we used the rest of the coil ( eavestrough material ) on other buildings and had no concerns with them. He wanted no part of that just wanted us to "come and replace it"
After Mr [redacted] placed a negative comment on[redacted] of our company he called us again wanting 6 X12" pieces and he will fix it, and then continued to go on about us not standing behind our work. I reminded him that we discussed this before that we are not responsible for snow and or ice damage, or settling or shifting of his home, he continued on so I told him " thank you" good by and hung up on him .
We use hangers and screws to install our eavestrough, the hangers do not fit tight in the eavestrough allowing for the expansion and contraction of the eavestrough. We purchase our material from the same places that everyone else does as there are only a few suppliers in Edmonton. In our over 20 years of being in business we have installed eavestrough on many mobile homes, shops, barns, homes that are 70+ ft long and longer with no problem.

I find it quite remarkable that from the start you just brushed me off, mainly because your invoice states ( not responsible for snow or ice damage), but the damage did not show up until it got warm and all the snow was gone. [redacted] 1 bulge on the front, a little later another one, then 1 on the back, then a little later as it got warmer another one and then an other. 2 bad kinks in the front and 3 at the back. NO SNOW OR ICE, just heat. [redacted]
