At Pediatrics we strive to provide the highest quality medical care to= children During well child visits, being thorough and giving the best ca= re to children includes routine vision and hearing screenings unless specif= ically declined by parents Doing these screenings is the standard of care= in pediatric medicine In this particular instance, the vision screening = was declined by the mother but the hearing screening was not For every pa= tient, the insurance policy is a contract between that patient and the insu= rance company It is the responsibility of the patient to know what is and= is not covered under their policy Unfortunately, sometimes issues arise = where a service provided was not known by the family to be not covered by t= heir insurance policy at the time of service In this instance, for this p= atient, we will remove the $charge to this family, but we will not re= fund the $to the insurance company, as the care provided was appropriate = and well within the standard of pediatric well child evaluations Thanks, [redacted] [redacted]
