Not only did they disregard the type of golf cart we were to get, they delivered a gas powered one, but it also had a dead battery on the day of the event rendering it useless.

They indicate that they have an emergency number but no one answers it or returns the phone call. Be very wary about the way this company does business should you have to rent from them

Review: My wife and I recently renewed our vows. The location that we selected had insufficient parking and to alleviate this problem, we came up with an idea to rent a golf cart to help. We used the golf cart for about 2 hours on a Saturday night with absolutely no problems and then it sat in the driveway until Monday when they picked it up. Upon delivery of the golf cart, there was no inspection done to make sure they were leaving it in good condition. We were not around when they picked up the golf cart, but recieved a phone message on Friday afternoon saying something was wrong with the brake mounting block. I tried to return the call when I got out of work to a cell phone of [redacted] at 5:30pm with no answer. I left a message stating that we had no problems with the golf cart and to call me back as soon as possible. The weekend came and went and had not heard anything back. On Monday, Aug. 26th, I received a bill from Peebles Golf Cars claiming "damages to rental." I immediately tried calling the number to the lady I did my rental with, [redacted]. It went to voicemail, and I tried at least 5 more times before she picked up. She told me that she was on vacation and that I needed to speak with the mechanic who did the work,[redacted]. When I spoke with [redacted], he told me the driver that picked up the golf cart notified him about the mounting block being loose. I asked him when the last time that golf cart was serviced and he said he did not know and could not answer that question. I asked how this mounting block could be damaged and need repairing, he told me that if the cart was driven over a curb it would knock it loose. I tried to explain to him that the neighborhood we were in had no curbs and then asked if it was possible his driver could have done something that messed up the mounting block while putting it on the truck. He said he could not answer that and was just going by what the driver had told him. I asked him who I needed to speak with about my my problem with the bill and he said I needed to speak with "someone higher up" than him. I asked him who that might be and he just kept saying someone higher up, even once I asked him for a name. Since then I have called [redacted] and left a message with her her to call me back and have not heard anything. In conclusion, I'm having trouble understanding the maintenance routine on the cart and how this supposed damage could be my responsibility based on the limited usage during my rental.Desired Settlement: Dismissal of bill charges

Interesting story, but there was physical damage to the golf cart. The locking device was working when the cart was delivered....otherwise, the brakes could not function which would have been immediately noticeable. Our rental agreement clearly states that the the customer is responsible for damages.

We are removing the charges and noting the address of the complainant so that there will be no future rentals to this person or that address.
