Thank you for the...

opportunity to respond to this fabricated narrative spelled out by [redacted]. I want to start out by saying we are a pre-owned use car dealer, not a new car dealer. On 09/**/15, [redacted] purchased a 2005 Pontiac Vibe, with 174,267 miles on it, which, at the time of delivery, car was in good running condition. At the time of purchase, Milo was advised of all stipulations and procedures governing used car sales in NY State. Milo was further advised of the current (New York State Used Car Lemon Law). Several days later, [redacted] contacted Peekskill Auto Sales to advise of an issue with the vehicle. The vehicle was immediately picked up to resolve any and all issues. The vehicle was transported to a non-affiliated repair shop for the purposes of repairing the issue. An issue was diagnosed as a Catalytic Converter, replaced said part at a cost of $335 to the dealership. [redacted] picked up vehicle after the repairs and d rove off satisfied with the outcome of the issue. We, the dealership did not hear from [redacted] about any further issues or problems with the vehicle until we got this complaint from the Revdex.com on October * 2015. We were not aware of any issues since the initial repair of the Catalytic Converter, as far as we knew, the car was in perfect running order. Furthermore, according to Carol Canady's statement, her husband had the timing belt changed on the vehicle. If the car became inoperable after another repair shop went under the hood to take apart the engine, how do we know said repair shop did not inadvertently damage something within the car which would cause it to be inoperable? In our opinion, the repair shop that replaced the timing belt is responsible for the current condition of said vehicle. In closing, we at Peekskill Auto Sales have never had a complaint with the Revdex.com in the 12+ years we have been in business. We have numerous repeat satisfied customers due to ou r generosity. If we knew [redacted] had another issue with his vehicle, we would have taken care of it, even though, according to the Lemon law, Dealers are not required to offer a warranty for any vehicle over 100-K miles, which this vehicle had 174-K. But, again, we would have taken care of it if we were aware of any problems. Peekskill Auto Sales objects to this complaint and would like this expunged from our record.

Review: my husband and I purchased 2005 Pontiac Vibe from Peekskill Auto. We were told that the car runs great. No problems. We stressed that the car was for our son to use at college. We were promised that the car would be clean and ready for pick up. We picked the car, cleaned it out (not cleaned as promised.. chestnuts from squirrels under engine, trash etc) then immediately garaged it: was supposed to be a surprise late birthday present. A couple days later, my husband decided to give it a test run and take it to work (NYC Corrections) He drove the car literally for 10 secs and the car started making a weird sound, slowing down / about to cutoff. Engine light came on and he barely made it back home (happened at 4 am in the morning). He called dealer later that morning and car had to be picked up by dealer staff. A diagnostic monitor had to be used to clear engine light in order for car to be drivable. Dealer kept car for about days at the repair shop (Owner of shop Mohegan Auto and Tires also partner of Peekskill Auto). Was told by repairshop owner, car is fine, no issues, engine light no longer on, drives fine. We picked car (2nd attempt at driving it) Drove it about 17.5 miles and again the engine light came on, this time along with the TPSM (tire pressure light). We immediately called, made note and returned car to repairshop/Mohegan Auto and Tire/Shrub Oak). He diagnosed it again and said it could the 02 sensor and/or the Calactic Convertor. He said he would replace both. We picked car about 2 days later and was told all was well. My husband drove the car to and from work for 2 days. My son came home from college and pick up car and drive back to college (about 3 hours away). My husband before my son taking the car, had the timing belt changed (was rotted and about to pop) ordered missing parts, replaced lightbulbs missing from the gauges. Luckily the car got him to school with no issues since he was driving alone for the 3 hours. That was Sunday 9/28/15. He parked car until this morning 9/30/15 when he attempted to drive to work for a meeting before class and guess what, the engine light came on again along with the battery light. Car did not start.. Not only is car stalled and stuck on campus but over 300 miles away from original dealer and repairshop. Now it is going to cost us more money to have it towed, diagnosed again 3rd time and obviously repaired correctly.. This is definitely a LEMON* I should have listened to the word on the street.... Definitely Do NOT Buy a Car from Peekskill Auto ... Ever[redacted] We want our money back!

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. Complaint not fabricated and will no longer do business or refer. We had the car towed to an official GM dealer and had it serviced. Issue resolved. No further contact neccessary.

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a vehicle from Peekskill Auto Sales 2 months ago. First, I was lied to about the vehicle. I was told the car got 24 miles to the gallon on gas. In reality, it gets 14 miles to the gallon. Also, I was told the car had no issues. Right after I purchased this car, the alternator blew and needed to be replaced. The same week I purchased it, I decided the car was not for me. I was pumping entirely too much gas into it, and had no way of knowing because I was lied to. I was told from Peekskill Auto Sales that I had to wait for the title and I could not return the car, but as soon as I received the title I could trade it in and they would find me a better car to fit my needs. I was a little confused as to why I could not just return it, and so I did as they said. I waited for the title. The title finally came, and now Peekskill Auto Sales claims they cannot find me a vehicle. I also had the car appraised and was told it was worth only $6,500. I paid $13,000 for the car. Peekskill Auto Sales has been nasty and not helpful. I truly do not think what they did to me is fair! They scammed me and lied, and now, claim they can't help me. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with a car that makes all these funny noises, and is a complete gas guzzler. If I had known this was going to happen I never would have bought this car, nor gone to Peekskill Auto Sales. I am so disgusted with the way I've been treated! I just want to return the car!Desired Settlement: I would like to return the vehicle and go to a more reputable dealership! Or, I would like the replacement car I was promised!
