Peerless Plumbing Company Reviews (5)

Please excuse the timing of this response I had a surgery procedure that delayed me being able to get to my office and submit this correspondence in a timely manner. Mr. [redacted], is the owner of a one-bath room condominium at the [redacted] Complex at the above note address. We repiped his unit on February 23rd, 2011 using Copper pipe & fittings replacing the existing potable water system of Polybutylene plastic pipe & fittings which was proven defective and taken off the market (illegal to purchase and install).  We received the Revdex.com correspondence on 11/17/14 at 3:11 PM, I immediately tried to contact Mr. [redacted] at approximately 5:00 PM leaving him a message on his Voice Mail to return my call to which he did the next day to which I immediately scheduled my Project Manager to make any repairs to Mr. [redacted] at no charge to Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] as reported by the Peerless Project Manager after the repairs had been made stated that he would be contacting the Revdex.com and withdrawing his Complaint letter. Mr. [redacted] had three items he asked us to investigate. [redacted] above his front door. This was a loose pipe connector that was repaired. Dripping sound above the sink toilet/sink area appearing to come from the ceiling. The ceiling was opened up and there was no leak found . Additionally. we installed a water line for his icemaker. At no additional charge. The issue was raised about the price that Mr. [redacted] pa id for his Copper repipe & Drywall Repair three years after his unit was repiped of $5,400.00 vs. $5.000.00 that he had heard from another condo owners in this complex. Additionally, first floor units are priced higher because all of the piping for the first & second floor units are in the first floor units ceiling The prices over a 4-Year period that we were and still are repiping these units only varies with the price of Copper which goes up and down depending on demand and most importantly whether the units are first or second floor units. First floor units are much more difficult to repipe and use about double the amount of Copper. Mr. [redacted] and his father agreed and accepted the price of $5.400.00 for the repipe we performed in 2013. To raise this issue after several years is totally ludicrous with a almost three year old contract as the basis for this complaint. This is a complex of about 180 condo's that the original builder had his plumber install a defective plastic water piping & fittings we are still repiping the units in  this complex as they fail on a individual basis, to date we have repipe about 80 plus units.Without any complaints or issues since 2013 after we were selected by the [redacted] Board of Directors as the preferred Contractor.  With respect to Mr. [redacted], my last contact with him was on 10/6.2014 during which he raised the issue of a banging sound in his ceiling to me I asked that he call my office and we would schedule a repair I did tell him that if the issue was not related to our installation of his water lines there would be a service charge to which he stated he would call my office and make and appointment.  I had stopped by the condo next door to Mr. [redacted] checking on my employees who were investigating for the owner for his insurance submittal (also a repipe customer) where the toilet from the 2nd story unit above was draining into the unit below. Thank goodness; I was not the original plumber for this complex. Mr. [redacted] did not call my office but instead choose to submit his complaint letter to the Revdex.com. Peerless Plumbing Company has been in business since 1984 to date this company has repiped over 9,000 commercial, residential & condo units with without receiving this kind of correspondence by a customer. There are numerous venues where contractors can be investigated prior to Signing a contract but almost none where contractors can check out potential customers with respect to numerous issues that we encounter everyday. I do not respect the Revdex.com for accepting complaints without any investigation or verification of the information submitted, especially when I pay the Revdex.com every year and not the complainants. They can make any claims they want without respect to being challenged. In my opinion we contractors are guilty without any recourse as the complaints correspondence is filed without any respect for veracity of the submittal. I have submitted this file to my lawyer for review & my company's education as we go into our 31'1 year of business. I request a formal meeting with a senior Revdex.com person to review this situation and find out what I have been paying for all of these years. Regardless, Mr. [redacted] is or should be a happy man or should be, my company responded immediately and resolved any and all issues at our expense none to Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] had the audacity recently to ask if we would do additional work for him "removing & replacing a bath tub in his unit to which I Politely refused.

Review: PEERLESS PLUMBING COMPANY INC. replaced all the polybutylene piping inside my condo with copper piping on February 23rd, 2011.

My 5 year warranty expires in February of 2016. Since the copper piping job has been redone in my condo I have had "water hammer" or "knocking" noises occasionally coming from one part in my ceiling where the pipes run by my front door whenever I turn the water on or off. I also can hear a dripping noise in the above ceiling above my sink in the bathroom which makes me very uncomfortable. The ice maker water line for my refrigerator was never installed as well according to the contract I signed.

Lastly, I had a conversation with a woman who's a neighbor of mine who has a larger 2 bedroom/2bath condo and she paid around the same amount for her copper repiping job to Peerless Plumbing Company. How can this be when my unit is only a one bedroom/bathroom unit and she has a much larger 2 bedroom/2bathroom condo unit? Something just doesn't sound right. This woman serves on the [redacted] Board and she even agreed there was something very odd about this. From what I remember from our conversation, she said she paid approximately $5,000 and I paid $5400.00 for my much smaller condo unit. Why would a larger condo with an extra bathroom be the same price when more piping and labor is required??

In the last several years my complaints have gone totally ignored/unanswered. Here are the dates I contacted Peerless Plumbing Company and whom I spoke to about the piping issues in my condo. I can supply you with any documentation to back up my facts.

February 2011: Received an email from [redacted] who is the owner of Peerless Plumbing informing me "[redacted]" would be contacting me. NEVER HAPPENED.....

August 20th, 2011: Called and spoke with [redacted] and he said someone would follow up with me. NEVER HAPPENED......

February 2012: Spoke to an employee "[redacted]" while he was working on another condo unit in my complex. He came inside my condo and checked things out and said he would let Mr. [redacted] and the office know about my issues and get back with me. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM ANYONE.....

March 13, 2012: Called [redacted] (owner) about the lingering piping noise issues, water dripping sound above bathroom sink, etc. THERE HAS BEEN NO EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS FROM THEIR OFFICE SNCE......

October 6, 2014: Ran into [redacted] (owner) as he was at the condo next door to me supervising a piping job that they had done in 2012 (my next door neighbor had a major water leak). I told him I was NOT happy that no one has gotten back with me about my issues. He assured me he would get back with me and will look into the matter. As of November 17th, 2014 I have not heard back from Mr. [redacted].

These outstanding issues have been lingering on for so long that I have no other choice but to issue this complaint to the Arizona Revdex.com. In the past I have spoken to the owner [redacted] several times and there have been no follow up emails or phone calls. Bad customer service in my opinion. Why has it taken them 2-3 years to get back with me on this? I shouldn't have to call them every day. One call was sufficient in my opinion and nothing ever got taken care of. When I spoke to Mr. [redacted] back in 2012 he informed me that I would have to pay for a service call for them to come out and inspect my issue. Excuse me, why would I have to pay for a service call when it's their problem they need to address and look into it and I had a 5 year warranty? Also, I shouldn't have to pay for a service call waiting this long for them to take care of this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like the copper piping job to be inspected by a licensed contractor/plumber and repaired if need be so there is no more hammering/knocking noises in the living room area by front door or dripping noise in the bathroom. I also want the ice maker line issue to be addressed. I would like someone to tell me why I supposedly paid the same amount as a person with a much larger 2 bedroom condo did the same year? I'm in the process of possibly putting my condo up for sale in the next year and I want this taken care of before I start showing my place to potential buyers. I also want to be assured that my piping job was done and supervised by a licensed contractor/plumber.
