Pegasus Moving Reviews (3)

Review: I was quoted at 110 - $55 an hour yesterday, 10/*/13 - spoke with [redacted] ###-###-#### and explained it was two moves (things brought from art store to gallery, gallery to manhattan). Asked if there were any extra fees, travel time, etc. said no - just charge by the hour. Credit cards were accepted.

Movers had no idea of any part of move. Had first address, didn't know it was store, didn't have my address at gallery, didn't know there was a second move to manhattan. Got here and tried to charge me $255 and that they only accepted cash. Got in big fight with him and called [redacted], one of "[redacted]" that worked there, according to the mover. He told me $55/hr was just for labor - didn't include truck, travel time, tax. or gas. Argued with him about how I asked all of these things and he said it was $55/hr, 2 hr minimum. He hung up on me.

Mover (didn't get his name, unfortunately, could barely understand him) said he'd take off all fees except labor and gas, totaling $150, and to tip him $30. He said that particular guy "[redacted]" always did this and that it was a big problem, and that he'd finish the move to manhattan. I got 180 from the ATM and explained how to handle the painting. They moved the items they had picked up from the store into my gallery and then promptly took off with my money.

Tried to call mover - ###-###-#### who didn't answer. [redacted] (dispatcher) yelled at me saying I didn't pay the bill which is why they didn't complete the move. It seems like a pretty well orchestrated racket.Desired Settlement: I would just prefer my move was completed, but now that the movers have literally robbed me - lying about the services to be rendered & stealing my money from under my nose, I obviously cannot trust them with my valuable items for move. I even have a receipt stating that I paid $150 for my move from brooklyn to manhattan, which was obviously never completed.

This company should be shut down.

Review: Movers showed up and changed agreement advertised and verbally agreed to. Negotiated agreement of $60/hour for the service of 2 movers since 3 were unavailable as initially told. They did one room in 3 hours, were very rude, talked on their phone the entire time, threatened to leave everything on the street etc. Then after my friends and family all jumped in to help and they got over to the new address they had changed the contract from what I had signed in the am with a different pen all the charges. Now the price was over double what was initially agreed to and they held my stuff hostage until we paid them. We waited for the police to come for 3 hours and they said they were taking my things to storage without immediate cash payment. We negotiated them down to $640 from what they wanted ($759). They then unloaded my items onto the street and sidewalk and then took off, leaving us in pouring rain with everything to put into the apt on our own. There is even evidence they may have still had some of my items on the truck. My couch was ruined along with other items. We did the majority of the job and paid $640 for nearly nothing. Finally, they changed thier stories multiple times as to why the charges were added and what they were added for; including crazy things like they charged me by step they had taken during the move.Desired Settlement: I would like to have at least half of the funds refunded for not having completed the job, and changing the contract without agreement.

Review: We hired them and they started of nice, they drove our stuff to the storage. There they threatened me that if I did not pay up front they would not unload the truck. After a discussion I paid them because I did not want to lose my stuff. [redacted] told me that after I paid the time was locked and they would finish the job even if it would take longer than the set time I paid for( the added 1 hour travel time, truck cost and gas fees never disgust before). They unloaded the truck and took off. Left me, my sister and her baby with everything stranded. Two woman and a baby, strangers who witness this cowardly act helped us. I called there boss and he hung up on me and [redacted] also kept hanging up, I never got spoke to any of them again. I am not from the US and now know that I should have called the policeDesired Settlement: We would like an appology and a part of our money back, they did not finish the job and the hidden fees.
