It was brought to my attention on December 8, 2016, that students were suspected of cheating on an exam delivered in a classroom and I asked my education department to conduct an investigation of the allegationDr [redacted] , Fortis College Director of Nursing conducted the investigation The investigation interviewed all six students that were in the classroom, individually, and made a judgment to dismiss students from Fortis College based on the following collected data:1) During the test, students searched for the test key, within the teachers personal belonging,s while the teacher went to the restroomTwo students searched her belongings, (one being the customer, [redacted] ), and the third stood by the door watching for the teacher to come backThe students found the key, took pictures of the answers, and shared them with each otherThe students then returned the key to the teachers bag, and sat down to finish taking the testAll passed the test.2) This activity was witnessed by other students in the room that were also taking the test, and each student agreed that this event took placeOne of the students that observed the cheating act took a picture of the students going through the belongings of the teacher, as well, and after viewing the picture, and hearing the testimony of all students, there was enough evidence collected to dismiss all studentsFortis College maintains high levels of expectation for honesty and integrity within our Nursing program and this act of academic dishonesty is viewed as a very serious violation of our policy stated in our Fortis College Catalog, "All incidences of academic dishonesty and violations of academic integrity will be disciplined"Further, this violation, "may result in sanctions ranging from warning, lowering of grades, failure of class, or placement on probation, to suspension and/or immediate dismissal"All students were dismissed, including, [redacted] .Thank you for your attention.Sincerely, [redacted] ***, Campus President
