I stand by my flooring work which I have been doing for years without an incident or problem like the current one you are experiencing
Regarding your e-mail, I take exception to your suggestion that I was aware, at any time, of any issue - whatsoever - with my workmanshipYour suggestion was that I 'plunge cut' an area of the floor as a reaction to the investigation by*** of the problems with the floorMy cutting of the floor was only to provide the required 1/inch gap for the floor to float after the drywall was mudded and tapedThis was not a situation or problem I caused; rather, it was an issue I sought to, and did, correct

Again, I stand behind my workI want to make this situation right for you and am open to discussing how this can be resolved in a manner most satisfactory to you
These are the options which I will explain to you the best I can to help you make the correct decision as to how you can proceed
Remove flooring and self level the entire floorThis option will not be cheap to do;However, I do not believe this will fix the problemThe proof to you is this , both bedrooms are within the variances allowedBoth of these rooms have the same exact problemHow could this be if it was a floor leveling problem
Remove all of the floor and put it back gluing the joint togetherThis will void any warranty with the floor manufacturerI do not recommend doing this as it will only be a temporary fix
Another option is to get another floor from a flooring store (not a discount store)
4.The last option I can offer you is to refund you a good portion of the cost of installing the floorThis goes against anything I have ever done, but my goal is to help you get this resolvedThis would be in the amount of plus forgiving the still owed to me

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The resolutions offered by the Pehrfection Company are far from workableFurther, no mention of our counter offer is even being considered
Since the flooring was installed with so much blatant disregard for: The manufacturers installation instructions (ignored by the installer), industry standards for out of level conditions, board stagger, poor surface preparation) we were not even confident Pehrfection could even manage to the project
Our counter offer was to have Pehrfection at there own expense, hire a third party and have the re-installation performed properly and if the floor is at fault, Pehrfection would have a bit more control of the recovery costsNo mention has been made of our offer
Pehrfection Offer #1: (To level the floor and re-install "I do not believe this will fix the problem") is negative from the start, and Pehrfection's supporting point, "proof the bedrooms are bad as well, and were installed on flat substrate" is mute pointThe bedrooms installation were investigated by the manufacturer and proven "not to have been installed with the proper float" Substantial buckling has already begun due to this improper installation
Offer #2: (removing the floor and gluing it together) This not recommended by ANY manufacturerThis still does not speak to the third party inspection against the installation work
Offer #3: (get a floor from another source, not a discount store) The flooring came from a supply chain that sells huge ammounts of the same flooring, further, the same floor can also be purchased at ***, ***, and other premium store chainsThis remedy still does not speak to the third party inspection against the installation work
Offer #4: (give a refund of a portion of the installation) This is perhaps a good start however, now that the removal and inspection of the flooring is proceeding, there is tangible proof, the installation was done improperly, ruining most of the flooring (up to %75) and that the installation should NEVER have been attempted without the proper preparation
My research of flooring installation after all of this brings to light that even a year veteran of the flooring industry "reads and follows the flooring manufacturers instructions shipped with the floor" as changes in the flooring industry occur all the timeThis simple rule was not followed by Pehrfection

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/10/22) */
This is the response that was sent in regards to handling this matter. I gave 4 options of which none where chosen or even considered. Recently as a last attempt to fix the problem with the customer we offered him 800.00 in addition to the...

800.00 owed to us as a refund of the entire price of flooring install.
I stand by my flooring work which I have been doing for 15 years without an incident or problem like the current one you are experiencing.
Regarding your e-mail, I take exception to your suggestion that I was aware, at any time, of any issue - whatsoever - with my workmanship. Your suggestion was that I 'plunge cut' an area of the floor as a reaction to the investigation by[redacted] of the problems with the floor. My cutting of the floor was only to provide the required 1/4 inch gap for the floor to float after the drywall was mudded and taped. This was not a situation or problem I caused; rather, it was an issue I sought to, and did, correct.
My firm belief, based on my years of experience, is that the product you purchased was defective. Specifically, I believe that the underlayment on the product you purchased is defective. This is not, obviously, a problem that[redacted] will readily admit to or do anything to correct based on their 'report'. I strongly disagree with the findings and conclusions of that document.
Again, I stand behind my work. I want to make this situation right for you and am open to discussing how this can be resolved in a manner most satisfactory to you.
These are the options which I will explain to you the best I can to help you make the correct decision as to how you can proceed.
1. Remove flooring and self level the entire floor. This option will not be cheap to do;However, I do not believe this will fix the problem. The proof to you is this , both bedrooms are within the variances allowed. Both of these rooms have the same exact problem. How could this be if it was a floor leveling problem.
2. Remove all of the floor and put it back gluing the joint together. This will void any warranty with the floor manufacturer. I do not recommend doing this as it will only be a temporary fix.
3. Another option is to get another floor from a flooring store (not a discount store).
4.The last option I can offer you is to refund you a good portion of the cost of installing the floor. This goes against anything I have ever done, but my goal is to help you get this resolved. This would be in the amount of 400.00 plus forgiving the 800.00 still owed to me.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2014/11/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The resolutions offered by the Pehrfection Company are far from workable. Further, no mention of our counter offer is even being considered.

Since the flooring was installed with so much blatant disregard for: The manufacturers installation instructions (ignored by the installer), industry standards for out of level conditions, board stagger, poor surface preparation) we were not even confident Pehrfection could even manage to re-do the project.
Our counter offer was to have Pehrfection at there own expense, hire a third party and have the re-installation performed properly and if the floor is at fault, Pehrfection would have a bit more control of the recovery costs. No mention has been made of our offer.
Pehrfection Offer #1: (To level the floor and re-install "I do not believe this will fix the problem") is negative from the start, and Pehrfection's supporting point, "proof the bedrooms are bad as well, and were installed on flat substrate" is mute point. The bedrooms installation were investigated by the manufacturer and proven "not to have been installed with the proper float" . Substantial buckling has already begun due to this improper installation.
Offer #2: (removing the floor and gluing it together) This not recommended by ANY manufacturer. This still does not speak to the third party inspection against the installation work.
Offer #3: (get a floor from another source, not a discount store) The flooring came from a supply chain that sells huge ammounts of the same flooring, further, the same floor can also be purchased at [redacted], [redacted], and 12 other premium store chains. This remedy still does not speak to the third party inspection against the installation work.
Offer #4: (give a refund of a portion of the installation) This is perhaps a good start however, now that the removal and inspection of the flooring is proceeding, there is tangible proof, the installation was done improperly, ruining most of the flooring (up to %75) and that the installation should NEVER have been attempted without the proper preparation.
My research of flooring installation after all of this brings to light that even a 30 year veteran of the flooring industry "reads and follows the flooring manufacturers instructions shipped with the floor" as changes in the flooring industry occur all the time. This simple rule was not followed by Pehrfection.
