As stated in the previous response, the issues the customer had related to the vehicle were with the vehicle’s control module and not the GPS Pelican was never provided any evidence that the issues with the vehicle related to the GPS, despite being requested from the customer Pelican was advised by the repair facility that the customer had abandoned the vehicle on their property and as a result Pelican recovered the vehicle and was required to pay $to the repair facility to obtain its release Upon recovery of the vehicle on 4/26/we issued the customer a letter as required by applicable law, indicating Pelican’s intentions of selling the collateral (copy attached) The customer subsequently indicated her intentions of not redeeming the vehicle and as a result it was sold on 6/20/for $5, A deficiency balance letter setting forth the breakdown of the amounts due after the sale proceeds was subsequently sent to the customer on 9/19/(copy attached).” I hope this satisfies your request Should you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact meVery truly yours, [redacted] Vice President & Corporate Counsel

An account review did not reveal any discrepancies with the deficiency balance due, which would include remaining loan balance and any past due charges and disposition fees

I was very excited when Pelican Auto Finance, LLC approved me for a car loan and was hoping for a positive experienceUnfortunately, the problems started within the first weekThey lost paper work that the dealer had submitted to them before I drove off the lot, told me I never sent them proof of insurance and that they were going to use the kill switch on my car if I didn't send them proofI had to send it twice in one week because they lost it AGAIN a 2nd timeOnce that got figured out, they had charged me twice in one month for my car paymentWhen I had called to make them aware of this problem and ask that the 2nd payment be refunded, they argued with me, called me a liar and told me they didn't take two payments outI had to leave work and go to the bank and fax bank statements to them proving that they took two payments out in one day, then wait for ever for a refundI had to talk to different people in that situation because the first one was so RUDE and wouldn't quit yelling at me and calling me namesAfter that I didn't have to deal with them for awhile, I just paid my car payment and laid lowAfter two years of having financing through them, I traded my car in and went through a different financing companyThey made my trade in such a head ache, even the new dealer said they were one of the WORST financing companies they have ever dealt withThey are unorganized and don't know how to do their jobs, constantly replying with "I'm not sure" or "I don't know"I was very unhappy with this company and would never refer my family or friendsI will add, the last girl I ever had to talk to from the company, Leticia, was very helpful, and the best person I have dealt with from that company in two years

I am still being harrassed by this companyI traded in this car weeks ago and they are still contacting meLast time I had told them that they need to get in contact with the dealer who I traded the car in withI spoke to the dealer myself and they advised me there is not a payment to be made with themi would appreciate them to stop contacting meThey payoff amount should be received and that included last months payment in it.No further contact by the business

These people had me fooled as I was referred to them through someone I considered a friend, this friend had a family connection in the company and loved me enough to helpI felt they would be fair and safe to deal with because of itBoy was I wrong! After collecting my financial information, decided they only had one vehicle to finance that fit my current budget and recent repossession situationI was thrilled to have a safe, reliable vehicle to get me to work that can be up to 40miles from homeI had to return the car within a week because the tires were hydroplaning on I-in the rain and snow! They sent me home twice before finally fixing what turned out to be a more severe problem with the shaking alignment and the tiresmore weeks after that, the problem returnedagain I was sent home across state lines twice after being told the appointed time did not work out for the mechanicIt vas the winter months and snow and ice is prevalentAt this point, I understood they were intentionally putting me off so the warranty they established for days would run out and all the problems with the vehicle is on me and not them They knew they sold me a lemon and felt I was not worthy of a good bargain in a truly safe car that will pass inspection within a yearThe car made it about months before I learned from a Pelican Auto representative at *** *** *** (who did the sale) that they can only recommend a repair shop from then onThe company they recommended informed me of major car issues that were going to cost me more than $to fix! I had no choice but to accept they scammed me and try to turn it in for another carThat one was not safe and I travel too far alone and female to continue to take this type of high safety riskThey knew at the time about my concern as it was the first thing I said to them after introducing myselfThis was in years agoThe new dealership refused to take the car as a traexplaining it is a lemon car and please call them -tell them to pick it up and take it backI released the vehicle back to the finance co as they received every issue I had submitted along the way and a full breakdown of the $after monthsThey argued with me and told me how cars break down all the timeI just need to keep fixing it! That's how it works! It is now my responsibility and it will not be accepted back in any other conditionSo the repossession occurred at my recuest and Pelican filed some charges ignoring the repossession cut off date for payments saying I didn't follow their directions about calling some number in fine print stopping the monthly charges they never revealedI asked them firmly about the payments being stopped with this action and they said yes at that timeyears later they are choosing to report my non payment of that one month to the credit bureaus causing my credit score to drop by 47points and there is no sign of this changing anytime soonThey wrecked my credit and are proud of it!! My life is complete hardship after hardship because I cannot afford a lawyer to fight Pelican Auto and release this drain on my credit lifeThe distaste in my mouth has yet to go awayStay away from these mean *** people who love to take advantage of someone who is an easy target for them to step all over because we are women and don't generally fix cars ourselves!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
In the response from pelican auto, it said that a copy of multiple letters that was said to be send to me are attached but there is not any attachment that I'm able to viewIf I could received those letter and my credit file is updated than I would be satisfied with this portion of my complain with Pelican Auto.

The account has been adjusted to report to the CRAs and reflect the proper account historyThanks for your time and inquiry

I've been a customer with pelican for a year nowI went thru extremely bad times and had to completely start my life over...which is how I even ended up with them My payments have been made every monthI have never missed one....but they are usually later then the scheduled due date of the 5th Starting on the 6th of every month, and continuing every single day....up to times a day....they start calling They even call me at work and threaten me I even had one rep tell me to finance my car somewhere else Seriously!? I've never missed a payment and you don't need my business?? My last conversation with a female there got into my personal life I had to tell her that my home life was NONE of her business
These employees must be making bank and never had a rough patch in their lives and have always paid all their bills on time
I will never recommend anyone to use them...and I pray everyday that I can refinance somewhere else and be done with this "company"

Thank you Ms *** for taking the time to share your experienceI have reviewed your account and see system notes indicating frequent contact with you regarding your vehicle issuesIn terms of your particular claim, I see that we requested proof (mechanic note, diagnostic) that the vehicle issues
were resulting from a bad GPS unit as you claimThese materials were never receivedI see that Pelican agents were trying to work with you to find ways to helpUltimately you decided to abandon / surrender the vehicleThis is never our desired outcome

Mr *** - your account has been updated to reflect a "do not call" statusPlease contact us directly if you would like to settle your outstanding balance that is due

Thanks for the dealership information, we will attempt to call out to them for payoff informationPlease note that the customer is still responsible for payments due on the contract until we receive the full payoff proceedsFor this reason, we always encourage customers to stay on top of the dealership to make sure that the payoff has been made in full
