The issue existed prior to the customer coming in from what I am being told by the service department and it is also apparent that the issue was there prior to our dealership servicing the vehicleThe issue with 4th ratio error will not be corrected by servicing the transmissionFrom what I was
informed by the serviced department the customer wanted the transmission serviced as an attempt to better the situationThe service performed did not cause the issueIn reference to the "excess RTV application", I spoke with the technician at *** and he stated to me that there was some excess RTV, but that it did not cause any issue it was just something that he noticedMy service manager had spoken to me about the situation and I tell ask the service manager to inform the customer that we were not at fault with the pre-existing issue with the transmission but that we would offer him a discount to try and help the customer with the burden of an expensive repair
