A few problems, and I mean a few;

There was no structure support for the upper level, overtime our house upper level was sinking, so much so that the drywall on the lower level had buckled and cracked under the pressure over the last four months. We had a general contractor to come in and build a whole wall to support the upper level of the home. Without it our upper level would not have been structurally sound and unsafe for our new born daughter. We could literally see the floor sagging and walls buckling under the pressure.

There was zero insulation in the walls on the lower level outside walls, all of our water pipes froze and burst this past winter.

While we were replacing the wall on the lower level as well as re-wiring the upper level; we noticed live electrical wires that were inside the walls that were not capped or tied off and were not in association with any electrical outlets. Basically, there was not an outlet on the wall but behind the wall there were live electrical wires, a state fire Marshall would call this faulty wiring and a potential catastrophe. And it should be reasoning or grounds for fining the contractors that worked on the home.

There were heating vents on our lower level of our home, where our master BR is, but inside the walls there was no ducting running to the vents. They were basically for show and if for no other reason that to portray that there was heating on the lower level of our home, which inside the walls was no ventilation ducting, basically it was a whole in our dry wall with a heat vent over it.

Our cable throughout the entire house inside the walls had been removed. We had cable coaxial ports to give the impression that there was cable access in key areas of the home such as the living room and master bedroom and dining room, but inside the walls were no cable what so ever.

I could literally go on for at least four more things that were very wrong with this home that we didn't find out about until we moved in but I said I would name a few. smile emoticon
We tried to make complaints against the company but we were told once we signed the papers it was our responsibility. So we took it as a burden to ensure that it would be proper for when we sold it someday. We have already put thousands of dollars in repairs into it. Had electricians come in to guy interior walls and ensure electrical was SAFE and done properly. We had contractors build support walls on the lower level to repair the sagging upper level, we had electricians run cable the proper way. and our next step is getting HVAC techs come and look at the insulation and vent issue throughout the lower level of the house.
