Review: I received literature in the mail indicating that due to your student loan balances totaling over $40,000; you are now eligible to receive benefits from a new law that has passed regarding federal student loans including TOTAL FORGIVENESS in some circumstances. I called the number [redacted] and provided them with my benefit ID number on the mailing (# [redacted]); I spoke with a Jason Amato that stated he was my representative his contact number that he gave me to call with any questions [redacted], He explained to me that my current loan carrier was over charging me and making money off the interest on my account and that through this program instead of me paying 164.75 per month for 20 years my loan would e $42.56 per month for twenty years and that I would only owe $10,000.00 and that my loan would be in forbearance and I would not have to start paying until May 2015. He also stated that a portion of the payments I will be making on my loan would go into a trust account and that I may be getting money back. I asked why do I have to pay so much for the program and he indicated that was processing fees and I provided my banking account information and social to complete the forbearance form. When I called the department of education they informed me that there is no fee for processing a forbearance and that there is no such program. I also called my current loan company to verify my loan was in foreberance and they said it was not, nor was it in default in in good standing. When I informed them what happened they told me it was fraud. I called Jasons line and the representative that answered the phone acted as if he did not know him and when I asked to speak with a supervisor he indicated that everyone was busy with other callers and that someone would call me back; which they never did. I immediately went to my bank closed the account and placed a fraud alert on my credit report as this company has my social security number. I want my money refunded and I also reported them FTtDesired Settlement: I want my money back and I want that company shut down for fraud and mis-leading people
