Review: First of all I asked that I would be informed of the cost before the work was started to make sure that I could afford the work being done. That never happened. I also informed my dad to call me before the work was started to see if I could afford it. That did not happen. When I asked my father ([redacted]) why he did not call me. He stated that [redacted] (who did the job) stated that he had spoke to me and informed me of the cost. That was not true. When [redacted] called me at work he informed me that the job was done and then told me the cost.I was furious because I knew I could not afford a $600.00 dollar job. From the day that the air conditioner was working I was hearing a loud buzzing noise (next to where the thermostat was). So I was nervous and unsure of the work. I then called for a second opinion. So I had One Hour Air Conditioning come out and the gentleman informed me that it was the doorbell that was stuck due to the house just getting a paint job. So since he was out I just had him check the work that was just done by Penguin Heating & Cooling. The gentleman informed me that NO new wires were put in like the invoice from Penguin stated (he put this in writing for me). There were new bolts put on but no new wiring. [redacted] from One Hour stated the job that was done would have costed around $300.00 with One Hour. Penguin charged me a total of $685.00. This was a cost for putting a new thermostat and new bolts on the unit in the attic. [redacted] also informed me that I was getting a huge discount because that was a $900.00 job. I am upset because he asked my dad who is 74 to sign for the job and he clearly overcharged me. I have since called and the number has been disconnected. Also my mom who had work done chose not to keep the upkeeping plan(due to the dishonesty) that she paid $145.00 for and he never returned her funds.I paid with a check for $110.00 and cash $250.00. Also he came 3 different times and each invoice has the same date.I have supporting documents from both parties.Desired Settlement: Refund of my mothers fee of $145.00. I only paid $350.00 and said I would make payments because I could not pay all at once. I would like to let him have the $350.00 and be done with him!
