I called to report property damage around Oct 5th 2015. My roof had been leaking in three places and now has caused wall damage, ceiling damage and the roof damage. I had to wait almost 1 and 1/2 weeks for an adjustor to come out. I heard nothing from Penn National and kept calling. On Oct 22nd, I spoke with a supervisor named Billy H[redacted]. I had already been told PN would send a check for 1,531.64 for damages. I wanted to know why PN would not cover my microwave and CPU to a computer that were lost due to the storm and lightning in my area the week of Oct 2nd . He told me there was no lightning in my area that week. I asked was he in [redacted] NC that night. His response was "'I might have been'". His condescending attitude and his smart aleck remarks to me were unbelievable. He said "I have pictures of your microwave and it wasn't hit by lighting" His implication that I was a liar infuriated me. He told me to take it to a repair shop and get them to sign a letter saying it was. I can't afford to do that and he knows that no repair shop would do that, they would try to fix it and charge money that I don't have. I expressed a great amount of frustration with him, his handling of me as a customer and Penn National. He told me he would be glad to call my local agents and have my policies with Penn National cancelled! If this is the kind of people PN employs to represent your company, you have major problems. I retired from [redacted] after 37 YEARS as a customer service rep and his behavior would have been a fireable offense with [redacted]. In the meantime, I am still dealing with my roofing problem as it won't stop raining long enough to fix the leak and now it is causing mold issues. My microwave is gone, as I got a quote for a new built in ** profile microwave oven like the one I had for $323 and the trim kit would be $228. Here again I have a problem because the measurements are different and won't fit the custom cabinet my dead husband built for our old microwave. I had $70 for a new hard drive for the one that got fried and installed it myself. Thankfully, I didn't electrocute myself. I also intend to contact the insurance commisoner and the attorney general in NC about Penn National's and Mr H[redacted] treatment of me.
