2003 BMW 760 li
We purchased a 2003 BMW 760 LI July 24,2017 from Pennant Motors At the time I was told there was a problem with the check engine light and it would be ready in couple of days. When I didn't hear anything from them after a couple days I called to see what was going on and how much longer it would be before the car was ready for me. I was told a few other minor problems were found and they were waiting on parts to fix it. The parts would be in in a couple days and they would call as soon as it was ready, I waited a week with no call from them before I called again to be told it was not ready give them a few more days and they would call us back. This went on for 11 months back and forth with them calling once and me calling daily or weekly. Every time I called they said there was a different problem and they were trying this part or some other part, In November I was told that they believed it was a problem with the motor. They had found one and it would be there in a couple days. No call from them when I called after a couple days I was told that the truck had arrived after closing and they had to wait until the truck was back in the area for them to redeliver it. I called daily for progress updates and after a week was finally told that thy were going to just get one from somewhere else because this delivery company was taking so long. They received the motor in December about a week before Christmas. Still I was the only one calling although I had left several messages. I waited until after the new year to call and see how things were progressing I was told the technician that was working on the car was in the hospital, but they thought he would be back in a couple days and although they had other technicians this was the best one because he was so exact in his work and it was the only vehicle he was going to be working on until it was finished. This repair was top priority for repairing. Another week went by without a call from anyone so again I called to be told he's working on it it will take time because of all the intricate wiring. They were told we were getting frustrated with the whole thing. We were also told that if this didn't fix the car then they weren't sure what it could be. I said that we would be willing to settle for another vehicle and was told lets see how things go and we will go from there. 2 weeks later the motor was done and I thought I was finally going to get my new to me car but they took it for a test drive and the check engine light came back on. they tried several things over the next few weeks and I called at least twice a week. I told them we were getting very frustrated with the car at this point and really just wanted to get this settled, The owner sent an email thanking me for my patience and to be patient and promised me an A1 car that would be worth the wait in the end. In April I told them I was giving the 4 weeks to have it done I really needed it because of a new job I was being sent out for training and I needed the car it was bought as a second vehicle for my wife. Finally June came around and after alot of my wife calling still we were told it was ready. Picked the car up and drove to pick up my wife from work. The a/c was not working and I had smelled gas since picking the car up called Rachael at Pennant and she said to have them charge it when we got the estimate for the e brake. We had been given a promissory note for a set of new snow tires to be delivered come fall and to have the e brake fixed at a dealership of or choice in our area. When I took it to the dealership 3 days later the a/c was fixed. When the diagnostics were done A gas leak on the manifold was detected, e brake did not work, front tie rod was bad and shocks did not work right. The report was sent to Pennant. When my wife called 2 days later she was told that no one had done anything with the gas lines, the tie rod could have been broken by a pothole and the report on the shocks didn't mean they need to be replaced, I asked how could the change the motor if no one disconnected the gas line? Didn't get an answer. Since then I have called every week trying to find out what they intend to do about the repairs and have been told that she needs to get together with the owner. About 4 weeks ago when I called I was told that Rachael was to busy to deal with me any longer and it would be Brian from now on. I have called almost every day for the last 3 weeks left messages and still have not received a call back. All I want is the car I bought was promised to be A1 condition which would pass NYS inspection. I was not able to drive more than 700 miles and most of that was from the dealership to my house. I feel I have been very fair and understanding and am very disappoined in the service I am receiving. I paid for the car in cash and also paid a gas guzzler tax at the same time.

ID Number: [redacted]To Whom It May Concern:We received two letters regarding this complaint from a prior customer of ours, [redacted]. It should be noted, that we received BOTH letters on the same day, yesterday. They were sent to a PO Box address. We do not have a PO Box. Our address is: 7589 West...

Ridge Road, Fairview, PA 16415. Luckily, our local post office was kind enough to bring these letters to us, albeit late. Please update your files to reflect our proper address. With regard to Mr. Maloof's complaint, he states that he is still due a refund of $1399.00. First, I'd like to provide an explanation. Mr. Maloof called us demanding a refund for a service contract that he purchased. We informed him that we simply acted as an agent selling the service contract, and directed him to contact the issuing company. Ultimately he did, and he worked out an arrangement with them to cancel the service contract. Upon doing this, we received a letter from the service contract company "CARS", directing us to refund $1700.00, which we did. We have never had a situation where C.A.R.S. has allowed a customer out of a service contract, so we misunderstood that we were supposed to refund the full amount. We interpreted the letter as though the warranty company had refunded the other portion directly to Mr, Maloof. Upon Mr. Maloof s complaint, we contacted C.A.R.S., and verified that we should, indeed, refund the balance of what he paid. We then refunded him the additional $1399. Upon receiving this complaint, we then verified that our second check to Mr. Maloof had not been cashed. To avoid any further issue, I have canceled that check and have sent a replacement check via FedEx Overnight in the amount of $1399.00. The tracking number is: 771140404715If there is any dispute about this, I invite you or Mr. Maloof to contact me at 814-833-0170. Very truly yours, Michael Davis PresidentPennant Motors LLC Date: 1/4/18

Review: I purchased a 2002 Subaru Outback H-6 3.0 L.L. Bean Edition on 7-27-2014 from Pennant Motors on ebay, item #[redacted]. Car was delivered on 8-11-2014. Unfortunately the car is very much not as described. In fact I feel it was very much misrepresented. All issues were reported upon delivery by phone and photos were emailed.Letters of complaint were emailed on 8-11-2014 and 8-13-2014.I phoned morning and afternoon each day for the next week always being promised a return phone call which never came. Received email 8-15-2014 that Pennant Motors would not take the car back.Major issues that were not disclosed: 1) Car reeks of mold. Not just a used car smell, but actual moldy smell. I have asthma and can not be exposed to the overwhelming smell in this vehicle, nor should any human being have to be exposed to any kind of mold that was not disclosed. To get rid of the mold the carpet would have to be replaced. 2) The climate control which was advertised to work properly does not function properly. AC does not work. AC compressor does not turn on. Defroster does not work. 3) Passenger front wheel has a big dent. This is the kind of damage that is dangerous as it can puncture a tire at any time causing loss of control. They advertised that, "all cars they sell have been checked for safety by in house master technician." This issue is certainly a safety issue.4) All tires are not matching and do not have excellent tread as was advertised. Passenger front tire does not match the other 3, is mounted on a wheel that has a big chunk of damage (see above), and the tire is worn out, also has a sidewall bubble. Passenger rear tire is also worn out. All tires need to be replaced as being all wheel drive this vehicle requires matching tires on all 4 wheels. Lesser issues that were not disclosed: It was mentioned in several places in the ebay auction description that the car has these items (dual sunroof, heated seats, AC/Automatic Climate Control) implying that they function since they also say that, "the description provides a comprehensive walk around of the car including interior, exterior, and mechanical systems." These malfunctions should all have been disclosed. 1) Sunroof control does not work. Rear sunroof works properly. Front sunroof does not function.2) Heated seats do not work.3) No disclosure that the car had been used for towing. Has an undisclosed tow bar, not shown is their photos.4) Big chunk out of passenger door arm rest is not the normal expected wear and tear on a used car. Also carefully not shown in their photos.5) Latch on the back hatch door is not working properly and prevents door from closing properly.6) Greasy black stain on driver door arm rest. Big green stains on carpet not shown in their photos. Overall filthy dirty interior. They say the car was cleaned including the driver door handle prior to the car leaving. 7) Owner's manual which is not there was advertised as included.Desired Settlement: I would like Pennant Motors to give me a full refund and send a transport truck for pick up of car at their expense.

Review: I recently purchased a 2002 Volvo S60 from Pennant Motors located in Erie, PA via Ebay. I live in [redacted] but my husband flew to [redacted] and drove to Erie to pick up the vehicle to drive home to [redacted]. During the trip home, my husband experienced problems with the transmission and a very strong fuel odor. Upon bringing the vehicle home (a few days later), my husband took the vehicle to his mechanic to inspect. He identified many problems and he put a list together with those problems - transmission, fuel pump, engine mount, the driver's main switch for the windows does not work, the heated mirrors are not operational, the rear window defroster does not work, the radio volume operates when it wants to, the passenger side climate control does not work. In their description it is indicated that "this is a car that you could plan on owning for many, many years without worrying about costly repairs. False advertising! According to the windshield sticker, the last time the vehicle had an oil change was end of 2012. Out of all of these problems identified by the mechanic, not even one was listed on the vehicle's description. Pennant Motors, in their description, specifically advertise that the "transmission is also excellent, it is very smooth and still handling well" and the only problem with the vehicle is the broken cup holder. There are two reasons that have made me file this complaint. One being the fuel pump. There is no way that they never smelled the strong odor while it was sitting in their dealership. My husband drove home for 7 1/2 hours with a broken fuel pump, spilling fuel and lucky the vehicle didn't catch on fire. The second reason is the transmission, which we have spent a lot of time and effort to work with Pennant Motors by emails but they never agreed to any type of solution and responsibility to the many problems this vehicle has.Desired Settlement: In order for this vehicle to be fully operational and safe, we have currently spent $1100.This does not include the transmission. To rebuilt the same transmission is $3500.I understand it is a lot of money to spend on this vehicle. We offered to buy a used one at a fraction of the cost of $1655.87, which we are taking the risk that this transmission could be no good.I would like to settle with $1655.87. Out of the $1100, I would like $180 reimbursed for the fuel pump.Total reimbursement $1835.87

Review: We completed a transaction through EBay to purchase a vehicle from this business. We live in [redacted] and made the drive for a total of 17 hours to go pick up the vehicle. After arriving it was very visible that the photos listed on the listing were not accurate. One photo in particular appeared to be edited to remove a 4 inch whole on the rear bumper. The tailgate of the vehicle was also no operating properly. One of the hydraulic arms was missing completely and was missing the mounts for it. The other arm did not function and did not keep the tailgate open. When I spoke with the sales manager she stated that they took the arm off because it was breaking the tail lenses and they had actually replaced it. She also told me that the vehicle was sent off for a current PA inspection and it was inspected. There were no inspection stickers in the vehicle when we arrived. They described the exterior condition as follows " The paint is in gorgeous shape, except for some average scratches and scrapes on the bumpers from parking. These have actually been touched up, so they're not too noticeable unless you're looking directly at them. Overall the exterior of this Outback is in outstanding shape. There are, of course, some minor dings and scratches as you'd expect on a car of this age and mileage, but overall it's definitely in above average condition." There was a fist size dent on the passenger side and the hole in the bumper. I do not believe that is an accurate description of the vehicle. While I am fully aware of the year and mileage of the vehicle you should still expect that they describe the vehicle as it sits. I lost a lot of money and time to drive to purchase this vehicle of which we did not purchase.Desired Settlement: This trip cost me $250 to have someone drive me to PA, $150 in fuel, and $30 in tolls. I would emailed the company with this information to request compensation and no email reply was sent.
