Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I have a hospital bill from Pennsylvania hospital for a zero balance and it is dated 9/25/14. My EOB is dated 10/3/which is a zero balance. I do not understand how I can receive a zero balance hospital bill and then the hospital can turn around and try to charge me. I ask how is it that Pennsylvania hospital can reference material from 6/after sending me a bill dated 9/25/with a zero balance. This is a deceptive practice and may allegedly give rise to Unfair Trade Violations practicesI have attached a copy of the hospital bill dated 9/25/from Pennsylvania hospital and the EOB dated 10/3/from my insurance company. If you would like a copy of these documents with my address visible please let me know. I don't believe you want my address to show. If so I can send them again with the address visible.Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:
When speaking with Penn Medicine, I was told that once the insurance covers it, my only deductable would be $40.
The business is now trying to "fix" what the said differently before the procedure.  This is a deceipt.  I respectfully request an adjustment, so that a bill for $40 co-pay is generated, which I will pay.
Penn Medicine did receive payment from the insurance company.

Review: At yearly physical it was recommended that I get the flu shot and was told it was covered by my insurance. I have been getting the yearly flu shot through my employer for free and out health screenings and planned on doing the same last year. But since I am fully insured and it was convenient to get at while I was at my physical I agreed to get it there since I was told it was routine and covered by insurance. My insurance then denied the claim. I was charge $30.00 for the flu vaccine and $60.00 to administer the shot. Both were denied by the insurance company. I tried to settle this on my own and have both called and faxed in letters and never received a call back or response.Desired Settlement: I offered to pay the $30.00 for the cost of the vaccine and wanted to $60.00 charge removed from my account. I don't think I should be paying for either since I could have received this for free at my employer and area local providers. Penn continues to be my provider for both Primary Doctor and Medical issues. This was either a mistake on their end or a misrepresentation to gather fees from participants. Either was they should be responsible for the error.

RE: [redacted]

Dear **. [redacted],

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding the above referenced patient and the services of October 4, 2012. As a result of your inquiry, I have reviewed this account.

It is my understanding that you are disputing the balance of $90.00 for a vaccine that was provided. A claim for these services was submitted to your insurer for reimbursement. However, it appears that this service is not covered under the patient’s insurance benefits. As it appears **. [redacted] was not aware that this service was not covered by his insurance, he will not be held responsible for the above referenced balance.

Thank you for bringing us with the opportunity to review this matter. Please advise **. [redacted] that he can contact me directly at ###-###-#### if he has any additional questions or concerns.

Sincerely.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I was charged 90.00 dollars by Penn Medicine for a Flu Vaccine that was administered 10/04/2012 at my physical. At that time I was told it was covered by insurance. I get the Flu Vaccine for free at my company [redacted]. I was unable to get Penn to remove the charges and filed a report with Revdex.com this year. My account was cleared a couple months ago and I thought this was corrected. I just received a new bill for the same service for 100.00 dollars. Not only did they re-bill me after agreeing with Revdex.com to clear my account they charged more for this service than the original service. Both the original statement for 90.00 and the new statement for 100.00 are attached.

I want the new charges reversed and my account cleared up. I find this a highly questionable practice and am curious about the legality of this action. 1. My account was cleared, due to a mistake of billing at Penn originally but offering a service not covered by my insurance.2. After this was cleared up months ago I received a new bill for the same service and was charged more than the original dispute that was supposed to be fixed.

Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation)
