Pennzoil Quick Lube Reviews (1)

Review: Within three days of having my oil changed at this Pennzoil Quick Lube, I drove from Pittsburgh to Cleveland. There, I left an oil stain on two driveways. My husband called on the 3rd day and warned me not to drive home because he found an oil spill on our garage floor at home. I checked the oil level and it was still full, so I concluded it was a small, slow leak and drove back. This was Easter Sunday. On Monday, I returned to the Pennzoil and told an employee named [redacted] about the leak. He took a look and said that I needed a new drain plug. He then instructed me to go to an auto parts store to buy one and bring it back where he would vacuum seal the oil pan and change the plug. He confirmed that the leak was coming from the plug and claimed it was just "worn out" due to the number of miles on the car (roughly 170,000).Within a couple of days, the oil was leaking again so I called and spoke to [redacted]. He said they may not have gotten the plug in tightly enough and told me to bring the car in. He then assured me he would see to it personally and would offer me a free oil change for my trouble. I took the car back for its 3rd visit on Friday and the manager (not [redacted]) claimed the oil pan was worn out and the connection to the drain plug stripped, making it impossible to tighten. I've owned many cars with far more than 170,000 miles that never needed a new oil pan. The manager also claimed that he could tell which other company had changed the oil previously and tried to scapegoat them. I have indeed had my oil changed routinely by at least 6 other oil change shops and never had a leak, so clearly that wasn't the problem. Then he said things just wear out.I am appalled at the unwillingness of anyone at this location to take responsibility for their actions. The age of the car did not create the leak. The other vendors did not create the leak. The employee who cross-threaded the drain plug created the problem and they want to blame anything but themselves.Desired Settlement: I would not trust the employees of the Pennzoil Quick Lube to replace the oil pan, so I would like to use my usual repair shop. The cost of the repair should be paid by this business since they are the ones who created the problem, most likely by getting in a hurry and cross-threading the drain plug. If my regular service station is unable to do the repair after my regular work day is done, I will have to rent a car; if so, Pennzoil Quick Lube should also pay for that day's rental.
