Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***Please add your rejection comments below.
I don't trust the company anymore. The merchant stated the fixed my rotten railing and shoveled snow. They never did that. I replaced the rotten railing and shoveled my own snow in 2013/2014. No one ever showed up. I've kindly asked for appointments to meet and you never agreed to do so and kept stalling and stalling. I'm tired of it and I'm taking action now with the Revdex.com. *** said that they would "show-up" whenever they could. That's unprofessional. And to respond to why covering a rotten rake board up with aluminum would fix a siding issue? It's because *** ***, who came and fixed said it wouldn't leak. You're own worker said
Regards,
*** ***

Mr***, I'm sorry you feel we did a bad job at following up with youI reviewed several emails dating back to 9/and saw that we answered you typically in 1-business daysThe last email from you way 5/which we did not respond to because although I offered to give you a helping hand you insisted upon another appointmentI was willing to send my guys over to fix the damaged shingles caused by A SEPARATE contractor you hired for free, because I was being a nice guyBut you told me I needed an appointment to do this...we made nearly appointments at your home prior to this and told you and explained to you the issues and took our time explaining the problems to you and then again you say " I would like to be present to discuss the problem and learn about it." I have done this, *** has done this and so has ***I don't feel that when I offer you something for free you should tell me I need an appointment to come back out and explain the whole thing to you again for the 6th time Secondly, I have read emails dating back as far as 2/with you requesting an estimate to fix the sidingWe told you we don't fix that type of siding, that we only install vinyl sidingYou have rotten rake boards, trim boards, deck boards etc at your home that it could be getting in tooIt doesn't leak when it rains, only when you have snow up against the outside wallWhen we removed this snow for you once you accused us of breaking your railingsI have attached a photo of the rotten railingWe fixed this for you for free too, as well as never charging you to remove the snow in that section of the house back in winter 2013/because we figured it was in our best interest to help you out and show you it wasn't our workAt that time we told you it was the sidingYou asked *** to come back and he did, SEVERAL TIMES and told you that it was the siding in that area all of those times Your requesting money back for work we did in December of because you were under the impression it would fix the issue? I'm curious as to why you would assume covering a rotten rake board up with aluminum would fix a siding issue that you were made aware of several times and even once requested a quote for (when we told you we didn't do this type) I'm really sorry your not understanding this, I truly feel for you and I'm sure that its uncomfortable to not feel comfortable about your roofHere is my proposed resolution: I will return to your home with a representative from either *** ** (our supplier) or *** (shingle manufacturer)We will perform a water test during this time and we will inspect the roof in the area of concernI will gladly provide a ladder assist for you to view this work being done and will show you the flashing that was damaged and the shingles that were damaged by the other contractorI will also point out all rotten wood that could be attributing to this leakIf the 3rd party I have meet us there determines that the fault is on Connell Roofing, we will pay for the entire cost of this process and make any recommended repairs to our workI will not be willing to repair the damaged shingles which I had previously offered, which were damaged by the other contractor any longerIf however, the roof proves to be installed correctly, per manufacturers recommendations deemed appropriate by our 3rd party representative and the leak is attributed to something other than the roofing work Connell Roofing has provided; you will pay a total of $1,for our time, hassle and for the cost of the 3rd party inspectorTHIS ENTIRE VISIT WILL BE AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDED and will only be performed in the presence of *** ***, *** ***, ***
*** and the 3rd party representative provided by Connell RoofingWe will provide you with dates and times for this meeting, if you cancel or are unable to make the meeting you will be responsible for the total cost stated aboveWe will want to have a certified bank check on site and in hand prior to commencement of the inspection, if at the end of the inspection the 3rd party shows our fault we will promptly return it If you do not agree to have this done, I don't know what else to tell youIt is not the roof that caused the leakIn fact...you told me yourself it was leaking prior to the roof work when I came at the beginning of this yearIt is coming in from elsewhere...windows, siding, trim...all in need of repair at your home If I thought there was any chance Mr***, that this leak was attributed to my work I wouldn't hesitate one bit to send my crew over and replace your roofThe cost of doing this to my business is negligible and personally I would just want to put this to rest, but I know its not the issueI'm sorry you felt the need to take this issue to the Revdex.com, but clearly we did not see eye to eye on the root of the problemI can understand why you may be confused since this isn't your line of work, but it is evident to me. If you choose to make and defamatory statements against myself or my business as you have threatened to do to a local realtor in your last email, I will be seeking full legal recourse

We have visited Mr***’s house multiple times regarding the complaintOn each occasion we have informed Mr*** of a siding issue which we recommended getting repairedOn one occasion we noted some fascia work that needed to be done, unrelated to the leakMr*** hired us to fix the issue
but was under the impression this would also fix his leak which was nearly ten feet awayMr*** called again regarding the same original leak, when we revisited the issue Mr*** came up onto the roof with us and we showed him that there was no damage to his roof near the leak and again explained the siding issueWe also showed Mr*** multiple holes in his roof near the chimney, which is on a completely different section of the homeMr*** told us he had hired a company to remove the snow and ice from his roof during the bad storms as most people in the area had and that they must have caused the damageWe explained how he should have this fixed ASAPMr *** stated I should do the work for free for himI told him I would give him a discount on the work since he was a previous customer but that I was under no obligation to do the work for freeLater that day Mr*** emailed me stating that I told him I would do it for freeI have no idea why I would repair damage on his house caused by another company at no costMr***’s warranty does not cover malicious damage done by a human with a hammer beating on the roofThe warranty covers manufacturer and workmanship defectsThere is no damage and no blown off shingles on the roof anywhere. Secondly, the work which was performed on Mr***’s house was done years agoThe leak was there before we did the roof, and was remaining after we did the roof, but Mr*** did not tell us he had a leak prior to starting his roof so we had not heard about this till after the work was completed; or we would have told him it was the sidingThe roof at the time was in dire need of replacement regardless and I think we all agree on this. I do feel Mr*** probably feels that we are not being attentive to his issue because he paid good money for a good roof to be put on his home, but the leak he had wasn’t fixed and I am sure this is frustratingBut I want it to be clear Connell Roofing did not do the siding, was not told about the leak prior to commencing the work and has no obligation to the leak or damage caused by another contractorI was happy to help Mr*** with his problems until his demeanor ***ed and he began to blame me for his issues and demanded we fix it for freeIt’s in my best interest to make every Client happy with our workmanship, hence why we currently have an A+ rating with the Revdex.com and have been voted *** Regions Best Roofing Contractor years in a rowMy word stands true that I would be happy to give Mr*** a discount to repair the work which was damaged by another contractor if he in turn removes the negative complaint against our company and is willing to pay in full for the repairs prior to commencing the workI do not feel comfortable at this time working for him, trusting he will pay me when I am done. Also note, when we did the work on his home years ago Mr*** *** gave Mr*** options for a back flat section of the roof in which Mr*** went with the less expensive and less durable roofing system type. I'm going to drop this case as this is not important as life itself.  Please let the vendor know that I'm not happy with their work ethic and unprofessional code of conduct.

[The fact of the matter is that [redacted] still hasn't scheduled to come back and re-evaluate after he said he would.  They are not GOOD FOR THEIR WORD.  I've asked Connell to fix the leak, whether it's the siding and still no appointment have been made.  I don't want you guys back, I want my money back.  I will file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and notify Louise Condon who referred me to Connell Roofing of the poor job and bad follow-up and make sure they don't get anymore referral work from her again.  ]

In response to the above referenced complaint, Lewis Systems would like to submit an explanation of services rendered in order...

to resolve this matter:
On March 6, Lewis Systems was requested to make a service call to inspect and repair [redacted] model [redacted] This was our first experience with this customer and had no background service history on this unit. We were told it was overheating and shutting down. We found the unit low in oil and what service records that could be found, the unit had over 10,000 hours since it had been serviced. We recommended a full service on the unit, but customer only wanted to get oil level corrected to see if that would solve their problem. Customer did not have any oil on site, so our service technician had to return the next day to drain old oil (can't mix brands and types of oil) and fill with new oil. Our service technician was able to get the unit running but discharge temperature was higher than it should be, which could be caused by a multitude of things. We again recommended performing a full service changing all filters. Customer only wanted us to change the oil filter.
On March 11, Lewis Systems changed the oil filter. Blew out the fins on the oil cooler. The unit was still overheating. We tried to explain to the customer there were still several things that could cause the condition of the compressor and generally would need to replace all possibilities or do a process of eliminations (this was customer's main compressor and did not want to shut down the unit for more than a few hours for repairs).
On March 18, customer agreed to have us change the thermostatic mixing valve element which we did and the unit seemed to be maintaining a normal temperature. We were informed on March 19, the unit was still running hot and that the customer was having to run their spare compressor to keep it running. We quoted replacing the oil stop valve which was the next most likely control part that could cause overheating. Mr. [redacted] elected not to do this and we were told he would not be paying out last invoice #XXXXXX since it did not fix their problem which we never guaranteed that it would.
Unfortunately, we could not make this customer happy. To my knowledge, [redacted] is still running this unit the way it was left on March 18, 2015.
As far as the customer's comments about charging for a part that they never received, the part [redacted] which is on the work order [redacted] is indeed the thermostatic mixing valve with actuating piston (our description in our software failed to print the full description on the invoice).
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance in this matter.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/11/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As was previously stated, Lewis Systems, Mr. B[redacted] nor any of their technicians were able to correct the issues after four visits. At some point, I had to make a decision when I should stop throwing good money after bad.
Until Lewis Systems and/or the collection agency they hired to collect this unwarranted debt, is able to rescind the report to a credit rating service, and credit the open invoice, my report will continue to be on their Revdex.com record.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2015/12/04) */
[redacted] Systems has issued a credit to relinquish [redacted] debt with our company. We do not feel it is in our best interest to pursue this matter any further.
Best,
[redacted],
Vice President
