After purchasing a voucher through Living Social (another business I will never do business with again), I scheduled an appointment. Unknowingly, I accepted an appointment date that was after the voucher refund period. Once the refund period expires, the vendor (Dillard Painting) gets paid, whether the work is completed or not.
On the morning of the appointment date, I received a call indicating that he was "running behind" and would reschedule a new appointment later that day. Never called back. I've left messages three times and no response. Living Social says it's between Dillard Painting and me. Of course, Dillard Painting conveniently ignores my calls, since they have already been paid for a service they didn't complete! Total scam.

Review: After Mr. Dillard came out and inspected the job he was hired to perform: drywall repair, drywall mudding and paint the basement of my home. The agreed upon price was $3,000: $1,500 for painting & $1,500 for drywall repair and mudding/paint prep, in writing. At the end of the job I was billed for an additional $250 for additional drywall repairs and was given pictures where he shored up the ceiling drywall with blocking techniques. A month after the job was completed I have found cracking in the drywall ceiling & in the areas where he performed the blocking work.

I contacted Mr. Dillard today to tell him about my problem and was upset that I called. Told me he didn't install the drywall therefore it was not his problem. I reminded him that his job was to repair the drywall as I paid for.Desired Settlement: At the very least I am asking for a refund for the drywall work so I may find someone else to do the job properly. $1,750.

In response to a complaint filed against Percy J. Dillard Painting & Drywall it goes a follows.Percy J. Dillard was hired as per written agreement that included to finish mudding and paint already hung drywall. However the drywall contractor hired by client did not install the drywall correctly. Percy J. Dillard Painting & Drywall who was hired to only mud and paint could not have known that there were faults behind the drywall installed. As hired, Percy mudded and repaired any minor surface drywall irregularities. Once Percy completed the work, the client congratulated Percy on a beautiful job. Percy did let the client know that all should be well as long as the drywall was hung properly. If the drywall was not hung properly than the mudding and painting might not hold up due to movement in the drywall due to inappropriate installation. In fact this happened and the client wanted to fault the painting when actually it was the installation that was at fault.The client was aware of this. Percy advised that the client have the drywall installer return. The client then admitted that the drywall installer left town and was unable to be contacted. Percy agreed to repaint if the client was able to get the drywall installer to fix the poor installation.Percy J. Dillard

The job included drywall repair issues, that was part of the original agreement. I was even billed extra for it on 6/23/16 per the attached. On 7/24 Percy Dillard Painting & Drywall stated it was not their problem.
