Lesson learned, money wasted on crappy quality of work

The original estimate and the estimate that was given when the workers arrived was way off! They left a mess on the side of our trailer and didn't put the skirting back on rightthere was a soft spot in the kitchen after the work was done that WAS NOT there before!

Warning! Do NOT trust this company to perform the job they tell you they'll do!

We dealt with the Sarasota, FL location, but we were advised that all Florida locations are owned by the same owner, and their phone # is XXX-XXX-XXXX.

On 8/30/16, we met with Richard from Florida Anchor & Barrier Company who gave us in writing a statement of what would be covered for a Lifetime Threaded Vapor Barrier ($4,700.00).

On 9/6/16- Their crew came out and said they did the job. Payment was held back until we had someone go under our home on 9/16/16 to take videos and pictures to make sure the job was done right. They also left a mess all around the perimeter of the house.

On 9/16/16- Videos and pictures were taken by a paid professional we hired. After Shawn in the office of FL Anchor & Barrier Co. gave us attitude for not paying yet, I then sent the video and pictures to the email address of FL Anchor & Barrier Company, showing them the job was NOT done right. Suddenly, we were scheduled for a 2nd time.

On 9/20/16- A 2nd crew came out to do the job that was supposedly done on 9/6/16. Two of the 3 guys spent more time walking around our property, hanging out on our boat dock and in the driveway (yes I have pictures). Again, payment was held back until we had someone go under our home again on 9/26/16 to take more videos and pictures. The employee was upset because he said his boss insisted he get payment from us. However, we refused, reiterating that payment would be made once pictures were repeated by our hired technician.

On 9/26/16- Videos and pictures were taken AGAIN by a paid professional we hired, only to reveal the job was STILL not done. We notified Florida Anchor & Barrier Company that we again had pictures to prove the job still was not done.

On 9/28/16- A crew came out again for a 3rd time to do the job that was supposedly done on 9/6 and on 9/20/16 (the same inadequate group that came out on 9/6/16...his response was "I'm sorry I think I should have checked the work of my guys"...you think???!!!!). Also, the office NEVER told us a crew was coming out, so I came home to guys under and around my home with NO NOTICE.
On 9/28/16- Mike from Florida Anchor & Barrier Company called and was EXTREMELY rude and started off by refusing to reimburse us for at least the cost of hiring another professional to take pictures. Mike just kept saying we had to pay the full amount because the job was finally completed the third time. When we told Mike we would only pay the amount due, less at the very least, the cost of hiring an outside company to take videos/pictures (which meant we'd be willing to pay them $4,275.00 instead of $4,700.00) Mike threatened "if you don't pay us now $4,700.00, then we're going to put a lien on your house, and then we're going to go to court and we're going to own your house!"

We don't want something for nothing. We agreed to pay $4700.00 for a job that was supposed to be done on 9/6/16. We had to fight not once, but TWICE MORE to get workers back to do the job correctly on 9/20 and 9/28/16, and we had to hire an outside company to go under our home to take pics and videos. Those services were NOT free! We had to pay to prove that we were getting taken advantage of by not getting the job performed that we were promised. We had all sorts of problems because of this which include serious condensation under a brand new cabinet and vanity! After much heated conversation and sheer rudeness with Mike, he finally agreed to accept $4,275.00. He refused to reimburse us for anything else.

This has been the WORST experience EVER! BEWARE and warn whoever you come in contact with! If you hire someone to go under your mobile home, check their work out before you pay them, ESPECIALLY if you still choose to hire FL Anchor & Barrier Company!!! And finally, if anyone reading this has used Florida Anchor & Barrier Company, I'm not saying they did a bad job, however if I were you, I might think about having under your house double checked by another company!

DO NOT hire this company! The quality of work is a joke. When I called to get an estimate they wanted to come out the same day which I thought was odd. I was at work so I couldn't. They were pushy about coming out right away which to me came across as a little desperate. When Justin came over to do my quote he was very personable. I showed him the soft spots on my floor & because there was standing water underneath my house he didn't look to see how much needed to be done on the insulation & vapor barrier. I got a quote for replacing ALL of it & was told that it would be adjusted once they were able to see what needed to be done. Which, by the way, never happened. After he quoted me the cost to do the work I signed what I thought was a quote. Turns out it was a contract to do the work. I've signed quotes before & all they were was an agreement that if I hired them to do the work that the cost wouldn't go up. I told him that I would call with a date if I chose them to do the job. One of the things we talked about was them coming a couple days prior to pumping out the water so it would be dry when they came back. I let him know that I was having all new pipes installed before they came out to do their job. So it was decided that they would come out the day before the plumbers came & Fl A & B came out to do their thing. After several phone calls, including one the business day before they were supposed to come out to pump the water out from underneath the house.

So , as scheduled, someone showed up to pump the water out from underneath my house & after a couple minutes knocked on my door & told me that it was bone dry so they were leaving & confirmed that they would be back the day after next. The plumbers came & did their thing EXCEPT that the shower kit they were supposed to install was messed up & I needed to reorder & replace the pert that didn't work. The floor underneath needed to be replaced because it had been damaged by a prior leak. When it was fixed there was gap between the wall & edge of the plywood to make room for the water hoses so I could see the ground from there. I shoved some towels down to fill in the gap, which I would remove after the insulation & vapor barrier had been replaced.

The day they were scheduled to show up they were late. Or so I thought. After an hour & 1/2 I called the office & was to that I wasn't on the schedule. After voicing my shock I was told the office manager would call me back. After 1/2 hour Mike Called & said that the could come out over a week later. I had already taken a day off using paid time I needed to have when my family was visiting from OUT OF THE COUNTRY. I told him that that wouldn't work & he scheduled them to come 2 days later. So I lost paid time off & had to pay to board my cat another 4 days.

On the day they DID show up I had to have someone come over & be there in my place. BIG mistake! When I got home that evening I could immediately tell It wasn't done right. They used 1/2" plywood & should 3/4" plywood. So the floor was uneven in almost every room in my house. They also ripped out a kitchen island that I talked about getting rid of at the request of the person that had come over to help me out. I was NOT happy about that because it showed the edge of were they had replaced the floor & the edge were the fllor had been replaced previously. Thankfully I didn't pay them the full amount. That was the only leverage I had to get it fixed. Daniel was the joker that did the work.

I had to spend almost $300 to get a kitchen cart big enough to cover the floor where they ripped out the island.

In addition to that there was a hole in the insulation/vapor barrier & because the shower hadn't come in yet I was getting bugs in my house. I took pictures so I had proof when they came out.

It took several phone calls & almost 3 months to get someone to come out & even look at the mess they made. Justin came out & admitted they had done a crappy job & wanted to have someone to come over the next day to redo the floors. I. again. found that to be odd that they were able to fit me in so quickly. I couldn't do it then because it was during the work week. We decided on a weekend day. Well the following Monday morning there was a knock on my door & guess who it was! Fl A & B!. This was not the day they were scheduled to be here. I told them if they wanted to fix the stuff underneath the house to go ahead, but the floors would have to wait until the scheduled date. He looked confused & said he didn't know anything about the floors. So AGAIN I walked him through my house & showed him what needed to be fixed. He took pictures & sent them to his boss. When he left he said that they would have to decide if they would be replacing the plywood or adding on.

The day that they were scheduled to come out I was told they would be there @ 9am. Well they showed up 1/2 hour early. I had gotten out of the shower maybe 15 minutes prior, so not acceptable. I was told t
