Perfect Image Cleaners Reviews (1)

Unacceptable initial and subsequent results. Unwilling to accept responsibility.Used them for a few months without incident. I took a heavy winter jacket in and they dry cleaned it and when I picked it up there were noticeable color runs as well as a very strong petroleum odor. I took the garment back and they recleaned acting like it would be free. Well I went to pick it up and they charged me for it again and the problem was even worse. The guy refused to give me a refund. I had the coat professionally cleaned elsewhere and took it back to Perfect Image and asked for an explanation and a refund. He argued profusely that he was not responsible. We are DONE with perfect image.Desired SettlementThe garment has already been replaced. A hat and gloves cleaned by this cleaner were thrown away as they were returned unusable. (smell). We'd like monetary compensation in the amount of $500. The original garment was $995 plus the cost of the gloves and hat.All items were by [redacted].Business Response Dear Revdex.com. I have video/audio of the transaction and discussion that I can provide for you. First she was never charged again for us to reclean the jacket. It is our policy to reclean any item a customer brings back to us free of charge.Secondly, there was no arguing/profuse denying of responsibility. I explained to the person picking up (she has an assistant so I'm not sure whom I spoke with at the time), the issue with the jacket and the next steps that we can take to determine fault/problem.The coat says: "dry clean only" which is what the customer and we the cleaner have to follow. Had we washed the coat and gone against the manufacturer's care label, then the fault would be on us.The FTC requires all components of a garment withstand the manufacturers recommended care instruction. It is there so that if a consumer washes a garment that says machine wash it should wash without colors bleeding. Unfortunately, manufacturers are not required to test garments before selling. That't just the way government works sometimes. FTC says components should withstand the cleaning process but are not required to test before selling. As you know [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], and many other corporations can make defective and recalled products but unfortunately its easier for the customer to blame the dry cleaner just because we are the last ones to handle the garment. I've offered her the option of sending the jacket off for testing at several testing centers of HER choosing and if they determine that the fault was mine I would buy her a new coat period. As goodwill I also offered her $100 credit for future use. I put that offer out there because that is about how much it would cost for testing and at the end of the day even if the test proved that I was not responsible, I may still lose a customer. She has not accepted neither of the offers and has already made up her mind about what happened to her jacket even though she has minimal to no experience with fabrics, fibers, and dry cleaning process. I even attached the Revdex.com's own article on dry cleaning and responsibility of damaged garments but I'm not sure she had read it or not.Again, I have video/audio of the transaction I can send to you for your viewing which shows that she was not charged for the coat's recleaing nor was there any arguing nor profuse denying of responsibility.Since she has gone ahead and wrote negative reviews, contacted you before talking to me, and refused all of my offers, I cannot do anymore with this matter as I've tried to be fair only out of goodwill.Thank you Revdex.com for allowing me to respond. If you need the video, please email me.Final Business Response Looking back at the video of the transaction to see if there is ANYTHING we could have done to prevent this but the coat was very specific as far as what dry cleaning solution to use. The coat says "dry clean with perchlorethylene" which is what we use. The manufacturer did not use the proper materials or they may have put a wrong care label on the coat.As a professional cleaner we always follow the manufacturer's care instruction to protect the consumer.Thank you.
