Per *** with the business -- Wanted to help out the customer, customer approved all cost before any work was done, went down and pulled the coil out to look for a leak even though he was hesitant to do it, the coil was leaking because the a/c was low on freon, the wrong coil was given to him by the dealer, tried to offer a used coil to help out the customer, set everything up for the next day to put in the new coil, business never ended up putting on the new coil for the customer because the customer found another company to put on the coil, tried to get a hold of the customer a couple of times and customer was not available, from then the customer never responded to the business, business may take the customer to court for payment on freon, service charge and labor time

Mr. [redacted] said on his first visit he examined the heat pump system, and found it to have a high tech thermostat. He called the Bryant dealer for customer support. It was low on refrigerant, he filled it to manufacturers specifications. He used a scale to add the correct amount of freon. System...

worked fine when he left. A couple of days later, customer called complaining of a noise. Mr. [redacted] returned at no charge. A "hard start" kit was installed to aid the system. Awhile later, customer called again about the noise and a third visit was scheduled, but the customer cancelled a few days later saying everything's fine. A couple of months later customer called wanting a rebate on the freon because another company say the system had been overcharged and it wasn't needed. Customer said freon charging can not be done in winter, but Mr. [redacted] knows otherwise. He is a master HVAC mechanic. He will provide documentation to show charging is acceptable in cold weather. He said not all company's technicians are as educated and/or honest as needed. They might be trying to make their competitors look bad. The freon may not have been removed at all. Does the customer have any paperwork showing another company's work? He would have to see that before making any refund decision.  He has a 30 day warranty which he is sending. With the amount of time that has passed, it could be a different problem by now.

[redacted] did call the Bryant dealer for customer service on our thermostat because he thought something was wrong with out thermostat.  He found out this was not the case after an hour of being on his phone and looking at the guide to our thermostat.  He then proceeded to go outside to look at the outside unit and came back to tell us after reading the panel of the unit that he discovered that the Freon was low.  Our unit never had any issues before [redacted] came.  It never made a noise and the heat pump never kicked on and off until [redacted] filled it with more Freon.  We chose not to call [redacted] back after a third time because we did not want him to continue to mess up our unit since he did not resolve any issues the second time he came out.  He did not charge us for the visit the second time but he did charge us for the hard start kit.  This only made the noise a little less noticeable but did not stop the noise completely and the heat pump continued to shut on and off.  When we had [redacted] hour and heating come out to look at our unit they did a tune up and discovered that it was over charged with Freon without us telling them about what happened with [redacted].  They weren't trying to "swindle" the competition because they didn't even know there was a problem until they serviced our unit.  We sent the invoice from that tune up that shows they had to remove the Freon due to too much high pressure.  [redacted] is not being honest and knows he should not have added the Freon and should have removed it after he heard and saw that our unit was not working properly.  His documentation of being able to add Freon in the winter should not hold up considering the Freon overcharged our unit and was never needed in the first place.  If he is a "master hvac" then he should have known that and especially after he added the Freon and didn't remove it the second trip but instead tried to cover up his mistake by putting a hard start kit on it.  We provided documentation to show the Freon being removed so we would like to proceed to have [redacted] pay for his part.  He should pay for all of it since this was his mistake and we had to pay another company to remove the Freon.  Our unit has not had any problems since the other company came out.

I already filed a complaint. I wanted to amend it, but the website does not let me actually save the changes that I've made. I have put the entirety of what I wanted to add to "desired outcome." If you could just tack that on at the end of my original complaint's "desired outcome," that would be...

awesome. Thank you.    Edit: I have actually been unable to get the damage repaired for as low a price as I said above. The $[redacted] quote apparently did not include vacuuming and filtering the system or replacing the filter line-drier, which is necessary when doing a coil replacement. The repairs still haven't been done, but it looks like I'm going to be paying a minimum of $[redacted]. I am still trying to find cheaper quotes. I'm now hearing things as high as $[redacted] to do the complete job. I didn't understand initially that replacing the coil means replacing the line-drier and refrigerant. That puts me (at best) $[redacted] in the hole to repair the damage, counting what I paid Pefect Climate.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The first trip [redacted] came to our house he was there for two hours.  One hour inside and an hour outside inspecting what might be causing the auxiliary heat to come on.  We do not understand if there was a problem with the TXV bulb why this would not have been found when he was installing more Freon.  When the other company came out they found this the first time after a half hour of inspection. [redacted] came out twice and still didn't find the problem with the bulb after knowing that if you overcharge a unit with Freon it will make a loud noise.  He said he didn't charge us for the visit the second time but he put a capacitor on for $80, which if you look online they run for around $20 for just the part.  This means we were still charged for a service call and the part.  We called [redacted] and talked to him about what had happened after the other company came out back in March and at the time he apologized for his mistake and that he would refund our service call and the money for the Freon within one to two weeks.  This is why we had to contact the Revdex.com because he told us he was going to refund us but then decided for another reason that he wasn't going to go through with it.  We would like him to have respect and integrity for his clients and jobs and if he would proceed with his refund like he originally promised us then he would be upholding the integrity of his company.
Regards,
[redacted]

[redacted] said he followed the manufacturer's recommendations and advice per a call to the manufacturer. He had gone back at no charge to look at it. The customer rejected his last offer to come out which was within the warranty time of 30 days. Had he run the AC, he would have detected it, but he did all he could at the time. The other company discovered the defective TXV valve. This explains why the Freon charge didn't read properly. Because he would have gone back to investigate, and because the warranty period has expired, a refund is declined.
