Perfectly Polished

Review: I went to Perfectly Polished which is located inside of No Tan Lines on May 6,2013 to see if I could get my nails done after hearing good things about their work. I was unable to get an appointment for that day so I made an appointment for the next day, Tuesday May 7, 2013 for 11:30 am. I have a 14 month old daughter and my fianc is totally paralyzed on his right side and that morning my child had gotten sick so it put us a little farther behind than normal. On my way to my appointment I had my fianc call the nail tech I had the appointment with ([redacted]) to let her know I was running behind and to see if that was ok since I was told about the policy of being 15 minutes late you have to reschedule and also pay half the cost of your service. He called and she told him that it was fine and that nobody was there and for me to still come on this was at 11:38. I arrived about 12 minutes after that and I apologized several times for being late. [redacted] then told me that because I was late I was going to have to pay and also reschedule....even though we had called and she said it was fine for me to come on. I was upset but was still very nice and I rescheduled and she told me she tried to call me and it said my phone had been disconnected. My phone has never been disconnected and the number she supposedly called was the number my fianc had called her from and it was working then and it is still working. I then paid her half price of the service I was going to get which made it $17.50 which I am highly upset about since she said it was ok to still come on then when I got there she didn't do anything and I was still made to pay her. I drove almost 30 miles from Stuart to Bassett for absolutely nothing. I rescheduled for Thursday May 9,2013 and I was told that I would get a phone call the day before to confirm my appointment. I never received that phone call so I did not show up for my appointment. I am very upset with this situation. I am a full time student and parent with no money to just give.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my money back because I drove 30 miles for absolutely nothing and she was notified I was running late. I have a 14 month old child who got sick that morning and I am a full time student and me and my child and fianc are just living off of his disability check every month and I don't have the money to just give away especially when I had no service performed and I do not believe she tried calling me because I had no missed calls no voicemails and my phone is working

I am the business owner of the nail salon located in No Tan Lines and I wanted to clarify some things up about this complaint about the company. We have a policy that we must stick by so everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Just like at any doctors office, dentist, etc. we have a no show policy as well as a policy for being late. Our employees schedule out prompt time for each client and stay booked so our 15 minute policy is very crucial. This customer was 28 minutes late past her original time and so unfortunately she was considered as a no show. We charged her half of her $35.00 service and then rescheduled her. We tried to call her number however we couldn't reach her due to no long distance calling on our business phone. Due to this we now have invested in long distance calling so this incident will not happen again. We gave her a coupon for $10 off any service and mailed her a money order.
