I have been informed of this situation, and stand by my managers decisionThis unit is years old however, that is not the problemThere are two problems with replacing/repairing that unit(1) The company that made that unit is literally no more, they have been out of business for over ten
years (2) Simply because CD's are becoming a thing of the past there is literally NO ONE that makes a part like that any longerI'm not sure where to go from here, we offered to give him a new CD player however, he seems to believe that is not sufficient to satisfy the exchange of something that is years oldWe did look for an alternative to his in dash CD changer, and see if anyone made a unit that installs in the trunk, but we ran into the same thing, no one makes those any longer eitherI would hope that someone would have common since enough to know that we have warrantied that part for years now, and just don't have any options to make him happy at this pointIF, a new single CD player is not an option to satisfy this customer, I'm at a loss of where to go from hereIf the customer finds a solution to get his in dash changer working, we will certainly consider any avenue that gets him where he wants to beAs anything else in the electronics world, things change over time i.e., pagers, and pay phonesThings that use to cost $can now be bought with more features for $99, it's simply an ever evolving thing that we certainly do not controlIn the end, no one here is giving him the "run around", we are simply in a position that we can't do what he wantsI can get him playing CD's again, I just can't get him do it with an in dash changer. IF, he would like, I can have some of my techs take his CD's and put them on a thumb drive, and he can then accomplish the same thing as having a changerI will do what we can as company to make him happy, as long as he is reasonable with his requestThis customer may call me directly on my cell phone if he wishes*** ***
