This is my second response to Performance RV as it appears the original never made it to you.1) We are very disappointed Performance RV has COMPLETELY missed the point of our complaint The vehicle sold to us was delivered to us in UNSAFE condition With the FOUR bad tires we could have KILLED someone on the road or been killed/injured ourselves Because the tires on this vehicle were the same age or older than the coach itself, someone at Performance RV was aware of thisTo say you can get to 80k miles out of a set of rear dual tiers may be true, but, it is widely known in the RV world, REGARDLESS of miles or tread wear, RV tires, MUST be replaced every to yearsAccording to RV experts, 53,miles means nothing, as the AGE of all tires should have been replaced after to years You can have tires on an RV, and only have 10,miles on them, but if left on for years, they can blow out due internal rot Having no cracks does not mean a tire is safe The age stamp on the tier that blew was from Our initial complaint never said all were replaced Performance RV told us the fronts were replaced years ago, and the inside duels were "BRAND" newBrand new would have been 2014, NOT or We find it equally disturbing this vehicle was rented to the general public on a regular basis with these old/unsafe tires And that there are no maintenance records for this vehicle Are there no state regulations regarding this for RV rental units? Seems a professional/expert would be able to produce written maintenance documentation for every vehicle rentedNothing, in any communication mentioned ALCOA wheels, we do not know what Performance RV is referring to with this comment" [redacted] had asked for a floor creeper to inspect the underneath of the RV each time they came outHe personally looked over the tires every tripI told them we had replaced the front tires twice, and I believed we had replaced the inside or outside tires onceFurther stating you usually get 70,to 80,miles out of the rear dual tires." This statement is completely false, [redacted] never asked to look under the vehicle, nor did he ever He would have no idea what he was looking at We trusted the Performance RV to be the expert they claimed to be.2) We are asking for reimbursement for two months payments as the vehicle sat that long waiting for a repair quote, parts, and then to be repaired All the damages were caused by a blow out of one of the above year old tires During the time it was waiting to be repaired, it could not be driven That one tire blowing caused a significant amount of damage including breaking the metal frame and a piece of side molding which flew off the vehicle and became a flying missile towards a vehicle behind us.3) Alignment, again there is a misunderstanding of what our concern is and Performance RVs response: What we were told was ALL Ford chassis have play in the steeringAgain, after research, we have discovered that ALL of the Ford chassis must be aligned as Ford does not do it We have driven a Chevy Class C chassis that drove like a CAR We never drove a Ford until this oneNo, the unit did NOT pull left or right, but was WAY out of alignment, as we have documents to show it We were told by people who do alignments for large chassis trucks that this unit should have been aligned on day one from the dealerThe vehicle drove the same from the first test drive until the day we had the alignment done, it was not caused by hitting a pothole Again, our concern is twofold, we were sold a vehicle which was not safe, and this same vehicle was rented to the general public regularlyOnce again, we would like to re-state, the reason for this complaint is because we were given misinformation regarding tires and alignment which made this vehicle a potential death trap for us, or a killing machine to every person in a vehicle around us, had the tire blown and [redacted] had not been able to get it under control Had we known about the tires we would not have purchased the vehicle There are also huge concerns on our part what other vehicles are being rented/sold to unsuspecting consumers like us.We stand with our original request for full reimbursement of the itemized expenses A copy of this email and all other documents will be forwarded to our attorney
