Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 13, 2015/06/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

On November 20, 2015 I visited the Performers Flooring & Design showcase in need of purchasing hardwood floors for my home.
There I spoke to Ed [redacted] who is a sales representative at the store.
At that time, I explained to Ed why I was getting new floors (minor water leak in my home). I also brought to the store, my new cabinet sample and the type of floor (red oak) that I used to have in my home. I told Ed I was looking for a similar type floor BUT in a color family that would enhance the new cabinets. We talked about various flooring (bamboo vs. traditional hardwood) and I decided on a cherry floor.
This is where the problem begins, NEVER during my conversations with Ed was it told to me that the floors were HAND SCRATCHED. Ed claims he did tell me this in which I explained to him NO, he did not becasue I would have never purchased the floors in the state they are in.
I paid $1,600 for the floors. They floors were picked up and delivered to my home by my "installer". The floors are 75% complete but when I came home had the installers STOP all work as the "scratching" is evident even more now that the floors are down.
I called Ed immediately and he said "well that is what you contracted for"...and I explained to him, that honestly I did not even look at the "description" as I knew what I saw in the store as far as choice color is what I wanted. LESSON LEARNED on my part.
I paid $1,600 for these floors which were NEVER described to me as being HAND SCRATCHED. Ed came out to my home to inspect the flooring and he specifically told my mom who was at my home while I was at work "I guess I should have pointed out to her the "scratching" and explained further what "hand scratching" is....he assumed I knew what this meant and he assumed I noticed the "faint" scratching on the sample he showed me in the store.
I am sick about this whole situation and the lack of compassion to resolve this. I know this is nothing that can be done; the Flooring company got exactly what they wanted; sale....but they MISREPRESENTED this product NOT pointing out and fully explaining what the flooring was or what to expect.
