So from September 2013, it wasn't until May of that he finally came out to the houseThen he said the leak by the fireplace wasn't related to his workI gave him the benefit of the doubtWhat about the other leaksOK, now he says he'll have to wait until it rains so he can see it leakingSo we call when it's raining, no response; keep calling and eventually excuses and more un-kept promises againFast forward to August of 2015, my wife decides to call him every day until she gets a responsenothing until she tries different phone numbers to call from and eventually she gets him on the phoneHe says he will come out next weeknothing, so she keeps calling and by this time she is pretty upsetShe manages to get him on the phone again and she expresses her frustration and he hangs upit's not like she was swearing at him or anything she was just understandably upsetSo then I send him an email and get a response about a week laterI told him I will take him to court if he doesn't get this resolved right awayin response he essentially said "go ahead" and that my wife was treating him like a child and I can forget about him ever coming out to fix the roofthis is one year into trying to get the leaks fixed on the roof and he is upset with us because we were upset with himomg! This is the strangest thing I've ever run into with a businessI still have the emailsHonestly I have on doubt that we called him more than times over the passed yearReally sad situationWe spent $20,on this new roof and we will have to get someone else to fix itThe lifetime guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on Regards, [redacted]

Mr [redacted] was not who was calling our office and we did not recognized the person's name or number nor even after I spoke with her did she tell me husband name [redacted] I had to pull address and ask her if she was the related to [redacted] or new owner of homeOnce we had that figured out we understood Mr [redacted] was out of town on businessWe then immediately spoke with Mr [redacted] explained why we did not respond quicker and was out to the project next day Upon going up on roof we found that it had inches of water where she said it was leakingI showed her all the water and explained that if roof was leaking it would be at this time also being it had standing waterShe explained that when it rained the night before it was leaking so after a a couple of trips we found that the water was coming from the large chimney and going past flaking into home I personally went out there when his wife was there and tucked pointed the entire chimney and explained I was not a professional so would not look great but should take care of there issue'sI asked them to please contact me with resultsI assumed when I did not here from them all was taken care ofNot only did I give them a bunch of wood he said he couldn't afford I tuck pointed chimney for free ..never heard from them or any attorneyAnd I would have continued to go there if I would have heard they had issues..we have lifetime warranty and stand behind with every customer

In 2018 we had a brand new roof put on. We had 3 leaks AFTER the new roof was put on. The leaks were corrected, however, the interior water damage that was done has not and will not be fixed. After months of going back and forth, several estimates submitted to Perkins, Perkins will only cover $500 of estimates that STARTED at $1200 the cheapest we could find. We asked if Perkins could find a contractor to do the work for $500, we would gladly do it. No one will, the job is too big. We even offered to for-go the painting portion and just have the ceiling/wall damage repaired. He refused. I have all text messages, photos, video and emails of our interactions.

Perkins All Star Exteriors and Construction Response • Dec 24, 2019

Perkins All star has been out several times to repair this leak, Two time we even flooded roof with hose and could not make it leak, I offered 600.00 because the damage was there before we completed new roof. Upon several attempts we could not get it to leak, About a week later customer sends a photo showing bathroom stack had come disconnected in attic so when it rained it was coming in through pipe. When we complete a roof that vent flashing needs to be changed for our warranty through GAF and that is what we did. She seems to think it became disconnected because of our work, But as I sated earlier in this post the ceiling damage was already there that is why they were getting new roof. As picture showed this vent pipe was never completed correctly PVC pipe through roof was just setting in the iron pipe from bathroom, Never was a coupling installed. So upon these developments I told her she need a plumber to come a connect that per code, And we would not be paying for any damages.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belo

There are several inconsistencies with *** explanation.

1- The new roof was acquired, old roof was over 18 yrs old and insurance would only waver it at 47%

2- each time AllStar came out, they did find an issue and repairs them AFTER the damage had been done.

3- The vent stack indeed disrupted by tearing off and replacing the new roof. As soon as it was pointed out to us, we had it replied as requested.

4- *** came to our home, unannounced while we were not home and proceeded to go fix the flashing issue from outside. I have it in writing from *** see attached that it was indeed an issue & he was sorry, it was then fixed and offered $800 for the issue.

5- Upon coming up the acceptance of $800, I asked in writing what would be the best way for him to reimburse us, he said I was “all about the money” and received to pay a dime.

At this point, this has been an issue since May of 2017, we just want the $800 that was offered and to be done with *** of All Star & complaint filed so this does not happen to anyone else. If you need more documentation, text/video, I have it all.

Thank you.

Regards

I am done with this custome . Pipe needs to be disturbed to complete roof. If it was correctly installed by a plumber it cant come loose. Damages were there prior due to same pipe. I have 2 other salesperson that seen ceiling damage.

The video of water pouring from the ROOF VENT that was installed leaked multiple times AFTER the new roof was put on is attached. That is the ONLY damage we are seeking to be covered. As stated before, we did fix the vent stack that was disrupted by the new roof which caused another leak. Yes, in 2003 the old roof has a small leaked in the hall and that is NOT a part of this complaint. What we are asking for by *** to pay as he clearly stated was indeed his fault and should have come sooner himself. This entire situation will end and we can be done with each other. The $800 which is $400 LESS than any estimate we have gotten will be accepted.

I have not written any write ups for any of the companies that have done work on my home but the last experience I have had with work done on my house has left such an indelible experience for my wife an myself that we had to share this most excellent experienceWe had some pretty significant storm damage done to our house from a storm in March and needed to have the roof repaired and the house re-sidedI contacted Perkins All-Star Exteriors to get a quote and have them review the insurance estimateFrom the time I spoke with Ty (Paul, the owner was not available at the time) and went over the claim, it was evident that this organization took a lot of pride and dedication to the work they took onMy house has suffered significant storm damage throughout the years (We live on Lake Marie in *** **) and there was a lot of damaged wood that was discovered once the project had begun and the insurance company did not cover this as it was a pre-existing conditionNeedless to say, the job was a lot more involved than initially thoughtThis means that they were going to spend much more time and energy repairing the house then they thoughtDealing with Paul and Ty was nothing but an absolute pleasureThey were professional in every sense of the word and never wavered in making sure their crews were doing an excellent jobIt was an incredible experience to do business with them and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to have an outstanding job done on their home repairs and renovationsThe roof was totally ripped down to the wood and replaced with excellent architectural shingles, and completed in dayThe siding was a special challenge due to all the rotted wood they had to deal with but they never wavered repaired everything that needed attentionI usually keep my expectations pretty low, so as not to be constantly disappointed, but they exceeded all expectations in every sense of the wordThe work their crews performed was always excellent, they were here bright and early every day and worked extremely hard throughout the dayThe temperature has been in the 90’s for most of June, but these guys worked nonstop from 7AM, Monday through SaturdayThe finished product was absolutely incredible and we have never been so proud of our simple lake front homePerkins All Star Exteriors is an outstanding home repair company to do business with and we would HIGHLY recommend contacting them for all your renovation needsThank you Paul and Ty (and all your crews) for such an excellent job and for being such a pleasure to do business with

I highly recommend Paul and his team at Perkins All Star Exteriors and Construction. They just wrapped up 2 bathroom remodels in 2 weeks for me and the end product was beautiful. Paul was easy to deal with, the price was fair, and quality of the work was excellent. I highly recommend these guys for not only exterior work, but for all your interior work. Job well done guys!!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First of all, the lifetime guarantee is meaningless. Our roof was installed in 08/2013. By September we had leaks in the roof. I called the owner ([redacted]), my wife called the owner, we emailed over and over again. Most of the time, with no response. On a few occasions he actually picked up the phone and promised to come out.... nothing. By January 2014 we now had leaks in 4 different places. Again email and call over and over again with more failed promises to come out. In March he finally says he'll have to wait for the snow to melt. omg! So from September 2013, it wasn't until May of 2014 that he finally came out to the house. Then he said the leak by the fireplace wasn't related to his work... I gave him the benefit of the doubt. What about the other 3 leaks... OK, now he says he'll have to wait until it rains so he can see it leaking. So we call when it's raining, no response; keep calling and eventually excuses and more un-kept promises again. Fast forward to August of 2015, my wife decides to call him every day until she gets a response... nothing until she tries different phone numbers to call from and eventually she gets him on the phone. He says he will come out next week... nothing, so she keeps calling and by this time she is pretty upset. She manages to get him on the phone again and she expresses her frustration and he hangs up... it's not like she was swearing at him or anything she was just understandably upset. So then I send him an email and get a response about a week later. I told him I will take him to court if he doesn't get this resolved right away.... in response he essentially said "go ahead" and that my wife was treating him like a child and I can forget about him ever coming out to fix the roof... this is one year into trying to get the leaks fixed on the roof and he is upset with us because we were upset with him. omg! This is the strangest thing I've ever run into with a business. I still have the emails. Honestly I have on doubt that we called him more than 100 times over the passed year. Really sad situation. me  husband name [redacted]. I had to pull address and ask her if she was the related to [redacted] or new owner of home. Once we had that figured out we understood Mr . [redacted] was out of town on business. . We then immediately spoke with Mr. [redacted] explained why we did not respond quicker and was out to the project next day..    Upon going up on roof we found that it had 4 inches of water where she said it was leaking. I showed her all the water and explained that if roof was leaking it would be at this time also being it had standing water. She explained that when it rained the night before it was leaking so after a a couple of trips we found that the water was coming from the large chimney and going past flaking into home.
I personally went out there when his wife was there and tucked pointed the entire chimney and explained I was not a professional so would not look great but should take care of there issue's. I asked them to please contact me with results..
I assumed when I did not here from them all was taken care of. Review: Mr. [redacted] installed a roof on our house in August of 2013 for $20000. The contract included a lifetime guarantee. In September we reported to him via numerous emails and numerous phone calls, too many to even count really, that the roof is leaking in multiple areas around the fireplace. After many conversations some members of his crew came and made some repairs. The repairs did not take care of the problem. Again after many more emails and phone calls I was able to talk with Mr. [redacted] at which time he said he was making something that would fix the problem. He never called back to say it was ready. We again tried calling and emailing with no response. Fast forward to sometime in December and now the roof is leaking around one of the new sky lights.... again after many emails and phone calls we finally are able to actually talk with him on the phone and he says he will come and look at it.... It's now May 27th and he hasn't come to look at it... This is after multiple promises of coming to look at it and also more than a couple times of my wife staying home to meet with him..... I've had enough. Not only is there not a lifetime guarantee but there isn't (apparently) any guarantee. We are so incredibly frustrated with the lies and lack of professionalism.Desired Settlement: We need the leaks fixed or to be reimbursed for having someone else make the repairs.
