"WITHOUT PREJUDICE"This complaint is frivolous and without merit. We made custom products to the specifications of the client, who's request to match existing windows could not be guaranteed, due to their age, years old It is unreasonable to expect colors to remain the same, if even available from two decades past We warned of this, the client brushed it off, saying, "I'll find something close" The client selected a color that was no longer made or available to us When informed he would have to make another selection, he flew off the handle, made unreasonable requests, and attempted to force his will upon This delayed production, and removed any possibility to profit slightly from production of his windows The windows are made to his specifications, using a lessor wood product under cladding [to provide a better price] that we would apply a sealer finish to prevent wood rot under the clad Windows were designed and fabricated to be clad with metal; however, since a color to match could not be found, something else had to be done In order to allow painting the windows, components already made by his request must be undone, new paintable components fabricated and installed, so he might have a color recently outdated and scrapped by manufacturers, now unavailable. We offered the client credit for the cladding charge to allow him to paint any color he wanted; however, if doing so involves added shop work and materials it must be supported It is unreasonable to expect someone to remove custom components at our exclusive cost, from the windows he specified and ordered, to make new components to allow painting, and reinstall such onto the windows at no cost We cannot accept full responsibility, the client must also support any changes necessary or that he requests

I had a terrible experience with Perma Seal Windows and Doors. This a highly inefficient company that belongs to the ages past. They sent 3 men to do 1 man job and never gave me an estimate of the job that I requested. Instead, I was majorly overcharged and had to pay over $11,000 for replacing 3 window locks, 3 screens, 2 side panes in my doorway and some painting. it seems that they want to keep their workers employed so they transfer the cost over to the customer. No honesty or transparency and very high prices. No, No, No!

"WITHOUT PREJUDICE"
This complaint is frivolous and without meritWe made custom products to the specifications of the client, who's request to match existing windows could not be guaranteed, due to their age, years old. It is
unreasonable to expect colors to remain the same, if even available from two decades past. We warned of this, the client brushed it off, saying, "I'll find something close". The client selected a color that was no longer made or available to us. When informed he would have to make another selection, he flew off the handle, made unreasonable requests, and attempted to force his will upon. This delayed production, and removed any possibility to profit slightly from production of his windows. The windows are made to his specifications, using a lessor wood product under cladding [to provide a better price] that we would apply a sealer finish to prevent wood rot under the clad. Windows were designed and fabricated to be clad with metal; however, since a color to match could not be found, something else had to be done. In order to allow painting the windows, components already made by his request must be undone, new paintable components fabricated and installed, so he might have a color recently outdated and scrapped by manufacturers, now unavailable. We offered the client credit for the cladding charge to allow him to paint any color he wanted; however, if doing so involves added shop work and materials it must be supported. It is unreasonable to expect someone to remove custom components at our exclusive cost, from the windows he specified and ordered, to make new components to allow painting, and reinstall such onto the windows at no cost. We cannot accept full responsibility, the client must also support any changes necessary or that he requests

I am rejecting this response because:
The rebuttal from Perma-seal strays somewhat from the facts as I recall themThere was never an expectation that the windows would be an exact match, the original windows were purchased some years ago from a company that no longer exists, so any expectation for an exact match would have been unreasonableThere were some concerns surrounding the dimensions of the windows and I complied, without complaint, to all the requests for clarification of any specific dimension until the shop foreman was satisfiedThe main issue of this complaint was that the color we had selected, from the samples we were shown, turned out to be unavailableWhen I was informed of this by the shop foreman said that he would try to find the color we had selected from other suppliers and I said that I would do the sameOur combined efforts were not successful and at this point we, my wife and I, decided that the only option available to us was to paint the windowAgain, I informed the shop foreman at Perma-seal of this decision and the next day the Manager called to inform me of the status of the window and the situation we are now faced withI admit I became somewhat vocal when I was informed that Perma-seal could not be held responsible for the fact that we had selected a color, from provided samples, that had been discontinued and we would have to assume the cost of changing the pieces of the window to a paintable grade
I am very puzzled by the notion that I am to be held accountable for their inability to maintain a current list of out-sourced product availability.
Sincerely,

"WITHOUT PREJUDICE"This complaint is frivolous and without merit. We made custom products to the specifications of the client, who's request to match existing windows could not be guaranteed, due to their age, 20 years old.  It is unreasonable to...

expect colors to remain the same, if even available from two decades past. We cannot accept full responsibility, the client must also support any changes necessary or that he requests.

We took the initiative to call Mr. [redacted], we sorted this out.  He has agreed to accept the windows we will provide, as he ordered and measured.  He has agreed to pay the balance due when the windows are ready for pick up.  We will credit the charges that were levied for clad, that cannot be provided in the color he selected.  We will communicate the difference in values to Mr. [redacted] directly, thank you for your help to get this matter solved.

I am rejecting this response because:The rebuttal from Perma-seal strays somewhat from the facts as I recall them. There was never an expectation that the windows would be an exact match, the original windows were purchased some 25 years ago from a company that no longer exists, so any expectation for an exact match would have been unreasonable. There were some concerns surrounding the dimensions of the windows and I complied, without complaint, to all the requests for clarification of any specific dimension until the shop foreman was satisfied. The main issue of this complaint was that the color we had selected, from the samples we were shown, turned out to be unavailable. When I was informed of this by the shop foreman said that he would try to find the color we had selected from other suppliers and I said that I would do the same. Our combined efforts were not successful and at this point we, my wife and I, decided that the only option available to us was to paint the window. Again, I informed the shop foreman at  Perma-seal of this decision and the next day the Manager called to inform me of the status of the window and the situation we are now faced with. I admit I became somewhat vocal when I was informed that Perma-seal could not be held responsible for the fact that we had selected a color, from provided samples, that had been discontinued and we would have to assume the cost of changing the pieces of the window to a paintable grade. I am very puzzled by the notion that I am to be held accountable for their inability to maintain a current list of out-sourced product availability.
Sincerely,
