I am rejecting this response because:Cynthia was manipulative and used false
advertisement and lying to gain my business. Below I have responded directly to certain
parts of her response so that you can better understand why I am saying she
used fraudulent misrepresentation, malpractice, and false advertisement to
conduct business with me.
She call me regards about Permanent
Cosmetic Makeup Full Color Correction and she ask questions about it!
Cynthia answered all my questions but lied when
it came to answering them. I talked to several other make-up artists who have
never heard of her in the area. Cathy from Absolutely Beautiful Permanent
Makeup by Cathy located in Riverside California, informed me about
permanent make-up artist like Cynthia. Cathy has been with the same company for
over 15 years and has evidence to prove it. Cathy told me that some permanent
make-up artist claim to have a lot of experience but are not working in certain
areas for a long period of time because they establish a bad reputation in that
area and have to move around. We cannot trace Cynthia’s work anywhere other
than the websites she has made up herself. When I looked back on her facebook
no companies or people have reviewed her, if you have over 20 years experience
how come there are no reviews of you anywhere? The Islamic girl’s lips she
shows on her response are not like mine. Furthermore, how come she hasn’t
returned to her for more services? Where are the pictures of a few weeks after
she has gotten the service done? Once her color started to heal she most likely
noticed her lips were getting darker and turning purple. If I have someone who
is providing a good service I would keep going back to that person, why hasn’t
this girl returned? All of the permanent make-up artists that I spoke with told
me that because of the color of my lips and the pigment variations in my lips I
would never be able to fix these dark spots and should not have been considered
a candidate for this procedure.
 
45 minutes consultation to respond all
information about her Full lips correction  All questions about the
procedure Micro pigmentation is add color in the skin and healing process.The key word in Cynthia’s response is “correction”
and this is another area of the consultation where she lied to me. I told her
specifically I wanted the spots on my bottom lip corrected and I want a tint
put on the rest of my lips that was the same color. When I was signing the form
she gave me I stopped when I got to the section where it asks what type of
procedure I was getting. I asked her (this is after we talked for over an hour,
after the consultation) “Since I want a correction I should check this line
right here next to correction, right?” I asked her this because she kept saying
Full Lips and correction within the consultation so I wanted to be sure.
Cynthia told me not to select correction but to just select Full Lips because
she is giving me a special price and correction is a different price. I thought
nothing of it until I went to visit her again and she told me that I didn’t
want a correction and I requested full lips. Making it easier for her to act as
if I requested a different service than we discussed.
Right before the procedure I showed her pictures
of what color I wanted (Reference attachment:
REQCOLORHUGME, REQUESTEDCOLORS) and I picked out what color I thought
looked the closest to the picture. Instead of going with the color I picked
Cynthia lied to me and told me another color, that was way lighter than the
picture I showed her, would tattoo and heal more like the picture I showed her.
I repeatedly told her that I am okay that my lips are darker and I am okay with
a darker color I just want them to be more even. The consultation was so long
because Cynthia kept tying to convince me that the brighter pink would come out
looking like the picture I showed her and it did not. Cynthia kept telling me
over and over that she had more experience than me and she knows best and that
the color I picked wouldn’t look good although it was the color I wanted and
the color that matched the picture I showed her. This is why I said Cynthia is
manipulative and is using her “20 years of experience” that isn’t credible to
sway her clientele to listen to her. This is not right and it is fraudulent
misrepresentation, malpractice, and false advertisement. Cynthia is breaking
the SPCP Code of Ethics (THE SOCIETY OF PERMANENT COSMETIC PROFESSIONALS) that
all permanent make up artist are supposed to follow. After telling a caring
professional permanent make-up artist about my story she directed me to look up
the SPSP Code of Ethics to help me prove my case. Carol From Fresh Faces
actually gave me this information about the SPCP Code of Ethics. Carol is
located at 3560 Grand Ave.?Ste. A, Studio 31? Chino Hills, CA 91709. Below
are the code of ethics, highlighted are the ethics Cynthia did not follow.

Members are to maintain high
professional standards consistent with sound practices.

relationships in a manner that is fair to all.

Members will promote professionalism
in the cosmetic tattoo/permanent makeup industry without discrimination against

false or misleading statements to the public through material; including but
not limited to: websites, social media, brochures, or forms regarding the
process of tattooing.

Members agree that any training
program at the fundamental level shall be no less than 100 hours (Not
less than 65 classroom hours) in duration and shall include practical
components under direct instructor supervision. Members agree not to teach any
such program which falls short of these minimum standards.

Members may not appropriate any
Society materials, including items such as articles, videos, images, and
membership lists for their own personal gain. Members may not reproduce or use
any of said materials, including the membership list, for any reason without
the prior written approval of the Board of SPCP. END OF ETHICS
 
When I told Cynthia I had spoke with Cathy from
Absolutely Beautiful Permanent Makeup, Cythia tried to lie and tell me that she
had just recently corrected one of Cathy’s clients. Cynthia told me that Cathy
had done a bad job on one of her clients and that Cathy’s client came crying to
Cynthia to have her fix the problem. When I asked her what Cathy she was
specifically talking about she told me “Cathy from up the street”. Clearly she
is lying because Cathy is located in Riverside and Riverside is not “up the
street” from Corona. Cynthia resorted to lying and slandering another permanent
make-up artist to try to make me think the information Cathy shared with me was
some how not true. The two text message images (Reference
attachment: CATHY1, CATHY2) I attached are between Cathy and I but most
of our talking was done via telephone. I sent Cathy as well as the other artists
I talked to photos of my lips and all of them turned me away. All of the artists
told me that whoever tattooed my lips should have never touched them because of
the variations of pigment in my lips and because of my ethnicity I risk the
chance of my lips becoming completely black or purple.

It is impossible for me, or anyone else, to fully
understand when I am constantly being lied to and manipulated throughout the
consultation. I told Cynthia I wanted my lips to be tinted and dark spots
covered. Cynthia agreed and told me she would do one full lip procedure on my
lips in the first session. Cynthia told me the color would not look as bright
as it healed and she told me it would be one full and even coat tattooed on my
lips. As Cynthia was working she worked in certain areas more than others. I am
new to this procedure so I had no clue the effect it would have until my lips
started to heal. Cynthia had made certain areas (that were not even my problem
areas) lighter (Reference attachment: HEALED1, HEALED3,
HEALED5) than the rest of my lip. Cynthia told me “I will do the first
session for you and then if you want a re-touch to make the color more intense
you will need to come back in 4 weeks”.
This is my issue with Cynthia and her lies. It is
obvious when you look at the pictures attached that the dark spots on my bottom
lip are still there and my upper lip (which previously had no problems with discoloration) is totally uneven bright pink at
the top, and dark purple below. I have attached 3 other pictures of a woman
that wrote a review on her lip tattoo experience (Reference
attachment: 1stEXAMPLE, 2ndEXAMPLE, 3rdEXAMPLE). The first picture is
after her first session. We got the same procedure different colors but I’m
wondering why her lips are not similar to mine? After having her first session
the outer parts of her lips are not lighter but darker with color. I spoke with
Cynthia about blending and shading for a natural look and she told me because
she had “20 years of experience” she knew about what I wanted and how to do
this. It is only common sense that if you want a natural look you will have to
shade and blend the color accordingly. The woman’s second picture is after
healing. Notice that her lips are EVEN. The third picture is during her healing
process after she went for a second session for a re-touch. Notice that her
color is intensified and that her lips are EVEN (besides the little bit of scab
left on the right upper lip).
Cynthia showed me several pictures and she
explained that if I wanted a more intense color that I would need to come for a
retouch after the first session. Cynthia told me immediately after we were done
that my lips would heal evenly but she knew that wasn’t possible because she
had worked on my upper lip and the left side of my bottom lip more than any
other area. The left side of my bottom lip is pictured on the right side of the
photo (Reference attachment: HEALED1, HEALED5).
Notice that one side is tinted with color and the other side isn’t. Cynthia
made my lips uneven on purpose so I would keep coming back and using her
services. I feel sorry for the other young lady because Cynthia more than
likely manipulated her into getting her lips that way. Notice how Cynthia’s
previous client’s lip liner is extremely dark compared to the pink color
applied to her lips. Now reference the 3 pictures I have attached (1stEXAMPLE.jpg). Notice how the color of the lips and
the liner aren’t two different colors but are shaded to give the lips/color a
subtle and more natural look. Cynthia is a liar and is manipulative to her
clients, telling them that she knows best but really she is just trying to keep
business coming in for herself. The only reason I believe her previous client
kept coming back for retouches is because her lips looked like mine after
healing. They were uneven and looked very unnatural and she was devastated,
like I am. I was eager to get them fixed but wouldn’t trust Cynthia again after
lying so I called around and asked advice from other artist who didn’t lie to
me about the situation. I can almost guarantee Cynthia manipulated that girl
like she manipulated me. After her lips healed and they were hideous and uneven
the client probably felt like she had nowhere else to go because other
permanent artist were turning her away, like they did me. Cynthia kept working
on her lips and they were so unnatural looking that she had to have her lips
tattooed with a dark brown liner to help them look a little more normal again.
This type of process guarantees Cynthia continued
business and it is not right, legal, or fair to her clients. Cynthia was going
to do the same thing to my lips and thought I would keep coming to her after
she had lied to me repeatedly. Cynthia took advantage of me, the girl she
provided pictures of, and who knows however many others. I have no reason to
lie about anything but Cynthia wants to protect her reputation so she can keep
manipulating people out of their money by in turn ruining their lips. Cynthia
told me during the consultation that she would provide me with results I wanted
but told me that I had to sign the consent because it is a legal measure that
has to be taken. I understood that but I had no idea I would show her pictures and
describe to her for over an hour about what I wanted and she would do the
complete opposite. Cynthia knew what she was doing and has done this before
just to keep business and money in her pocket. This is illegal.

Cynthia is lying here also. Cynthia is
contradicting her work. She explains that she was supposed to correct the dark
spots but she didn’t, instead she turned my upper lip a whole different color
and only in a certain area. I never wanted to get lip liner either. Cynthia kept
trying to upsell/and persuade me to get the liner and I kept saying no. Cynthia
planned to make my lips so unnatural looking that I’d have to keep coming back
to her for corrections and to get lip liner. It was like dealing with a faulty
mechanic who promises to fix your car then several other problems start to
arise, it is a game to Cynthia. I did not agree to lip liner or a retouch
because I told Cynthia that this was my first time getting the procedure and I
wanted to see how my first session went.
Before we started I told Cynthia I had a
interview coming up on Tuesday (I went in Saturday Dec 3/16) and she told me
that my lips would be healed by then because she was so anxious to begin the
procedure and didn’t want me to back out or reschedule because of a longer
healing time. This was verbally discussed before the procedure. Cynthia said
that she has to say the healing is 10 days because of rules,
but she told me I’d heal by Tuesday, which was also a lie.
 
*Side Note: Upselling is a sales technique whereby a seller induces the customer to
purchase more expensive items, upgrades or other add-ons in an attempt to make
a more profitable sale.
 
When I went back to visit her on Dec. 14/16 no
work was done so I do not owe her any money. Instead I discussed verbally with
her about correcting my lips and she refused. I told Cynthia about the
information that was told to me by various permanent make-up artists in the
area and tried to give her their information but she refused to accept it.
Instead Cynthia started to call me names and asked me to leave. Cynthia would
not delete my pictures out of her camera and I believe she wants to falsely
advertise my experience as a successful one to trick more people into thinking
she does good business. I wanted her to sign a statement that asked her to not
use my pictures but she refused to sign it. December 14th/16 Cynthia refused to
sign the statement I provided her simply asking her to not used my pictures,
she refused to correct my lip color, she refused to give me a refund, and she
asked me to leave.
After I talked to the owner of House of Beauty
and told him that I’d be filling a claim against Cynthia he told me that he
would tell her the right thing to do would be to settle. After she spoke with
the owner and I sent out a demand letter she told me that I would have to wait
30 days to receive my money back and provide another explanation as to why I
wanted a refund. Legally since she refused me on Dec. 14/16 she has to comply
with the demand letter. I explained this to Cynthia but she replied with “ You
are not going to tell me how to run my business”. I tried settling with her via
telephone but all Cynthia would do is yell, call me names, hang up in my face,
and block my number. I am not trying to tell anyone how to run their business
but by law there are rules, ethics, and laws you have to follow. I followed all
instruction she texted to me when it came to caring for my lips.
  
I notice this person likes to lie and
hurt my business! I don't read but she say this documents
is about the consent form she sign She wants me to remove her initials
from her consent form!
The above text is also a lie. I never told her to
remove my initials from the consent form at all. Cynthia continues to lie just
to make it seem like I am trying to do to her what she did to me, and that is
take advantage. I am not lying to hurt her business I am telling the truth
because I don’t want others to be hurt by her like I was. I have a skin
condition that causes all parts of my body to hyper-pigment  (I told Cynthia about it in the first
consultation) I have had skin problems all my life and I was coming to Cynthia
because I wanted to try to correct my pigmentation in my lips. I have no
intentions or no need to lie about my experience with her. I am trying to
prevent others from this nightmare as well as receive my $250 back to invest in
high quality long lasting lipsticks because my lips are now ruined and very
uneven (un-natural) looking.
 
Consent take a picture post it in
social media or advertising!
I did tell her before the procedure started that
she could post my pictures. After my lips healed I did change my mind because I
don’t want people to think their lips will heal or look how my lips looked
immediately after the procedure. My lips healed and turned out looking very
uneven and un-natural. If you seen my healed pictures would you go through with
the procedure? No one would. The picture of my lips immediately after is what
she responded with and that is false advertisement because that is not the end
result. After my lips healed I changed my mind about posting my pictures to her
site. If Cynthia would have been honest and showed me how my lips would heal I
would have never done business with her. Instead she tricked me into thinking
they would heal even and normal by showing me pictures of unhealed lips.
Cynthia also lied and repeatedly told me that my lips would heal even after the
first session knowing that she unevenly tattooed the color.
 
When she back say I know you doing
right way I know you doing perfect design I know the procedure!..But I
want my money back !
I never said the above statement at all. On Dec
14/16 I told her directly that she lied and explained the procedure differently
than my results show. Cynthia is going to continue
to lie because she is scamming people out of their money and wants to protect her reputation. There is no way I
wanted to take time out of my day to write all of this not unless I was manipulated and mistreated, and I was. I didn't name every permanent make-up artist I spoke with but I called every number available to me in the Inland Empire area, businesses located near San Diego, and also businesses located near Irvine. I was willing to drive any where to have this corrected but everyone turned me away. If a list of companies I spoke with needs to be provided I'd be more than happy to share but I will need to inform them first before I share their information in my statement.
