Complaint Information: This vehicle was brought to us late in the day on December 1st after the customer had attempted to repair the vehicle on his own. The customer was attempting to replace the O2 sensor and broke it off in the bung. We did a temporary fix on it and we were told to go ahead...

and order a bung for it so it could be replaced on Dec. 2nd. We charged the customer $65 for what we had done, which is $14 LESS per hour than our POSTED MECHANICAL RATE. The customer paid and was told to bring it back tomorrow and they would be looking at about another hour of labor ($65). The following day, (Dec. 2nd) the customer brought the vehicle back and the bung was welded on and the vehicle was repaired. Apparently, the customer thought this was a free service and was adamant about not paying. We told her it was ok to not pay, if that is the way she felt, but to take her vehicle and never come back again. At that point, her husband agreed to pay, citing that the whole ordeal was a miscommunication. Also, this customer, after filing a complaint with the Revdex.com, about two weeks later, was pulled over by the [redacted] Police Department for misuse of plates, and REQUESTED our wrecker service to tow them, which we refused. It baffles me that someone who was allegedly mistreated by our company so badly that they felt compelled to file a complaint, would request our services a couple weeks later.

Review: Copy of my email to [redacted] at [redacted] Lathrop Auto Body Inc. lists all complaints. See below.[redacted], I am requesting a refund in the amount of $1188.30 for the [redacted] windshield replacement performed at [redacted] Lathrop Auto Body Inc. As you know, the windshield was installed improperly. The reveal molding was also installed improperly. I have a video of the gap on the drivers side A-pillar where the glass was not glued to the J-channel. I do not want [redacted] Lathrop Auto Body Inc. to perform any further work on my vehicle. Complaints: [redacted] told me directly that the replacement windshield would be a brand manufactured by the same company that made the OEM glass. The glass installed at [redacted] Lathrop Auto Body Inc. is manufactured by [redacted], a Chinese company known for thin, poor quality glass. [redacted] is the correct OEM replacement glass. The metal frame (J-channel) where the windshield is bonded to the vehicle is damaged due to scraping the old bonding material. There is now rust forming in the J-channel. The bonding material that was removed was left all over the floor and seats of the vehicle yet I was charged for "clean and prep" before delivery. The windshield has a fine scratch from left to right in view of the passenger and there's a vertical scuff in the center of the windshield which is neither inside or outside but between the glass layers. The reveal molding began to lift out of the groove due to improper installation. [redacted] assured me that the molding would be installed properly but when I brought up the poorly installed molding, he said it was 20 years old and deformed from sitting on a shelf for so long. This is something that should have been brought up before trying to install the windshield. If the molding wasn't going to work right or was recognized to be deformed, [redacted] should have stopped the work completely. I was charged 4 hours labor for the molding installation which destroyed the molding in the process. [redacted], you told me to come to your shop in person for a partial refund and then refused to write a check for the paint work I opted to not have performed based on the poor windshield repair attempt. You told me you needed to wait for a check to be run with the payroll checks coming on Friday of that week. When the check was picked up, [redacted] simply pulled out the checkbook and wrote the check. You did this simply to add to my aggravation, there was no printed check. You also told me I could "scribble" all I wanted when I proved your refund calculations incorrect. I'm certain you will argue that you should not pay for the second reveal molding from Ford but the first one was destroyed during installation at your facility. Additionally, I should charge you for the time and fuel spent driving to your shop multiple times to be insulted and listen to your rhetoric. You cannot charge $1188 and return a vehicle in worse condition than when it was brought to you. You have until Friday, 01/23/2015 for me to receive a check for $1188.30 through certified mail. Address: [redacted] Of course, I will take this to small claims next week if I do not receive your check on Friday. I will seek court fees as well as reimbursement to repair the J-channel that is now rusting due to the work performed at [redacted] Lathrop Auto Body Inc.Desired Settlement: Refund in the amount of $1188.30
