We, at Perry Storage, are very sorry to hear that one or more of our customers has been inconvenienced as a result of the gate(s) at Perry Storage malfunctioningAs with any mechanical equipment, such as an electric gate operated by a computer, there have been and will, unfortunately, be occasions when such equipment malfunctions or a power failure occursPrior to the concerned customer's complaint, an individual drove through one of the gates at Perry Storage, completely dislodging the gate, as well as the gate controllerAs a result of such incident, it was necessary for Perry Storage to order a new gate and controller to replace the damaged equipmentIt was also decided by Perry Storage to purchase a new controller for the second gate, a new gate module, new key pads for both gates, and to run all new wiringBoth gates are now functioning properlyThe new gate controllers are equipped with a locking mechanism which prevents access to the power switch, except by keyOnly management and contractors consulted by management will have key access

The following response is given with regard to the concern submitted on 6/1/2015 3:36:33 PM, assigned an ID of [redacted]: The customer that submitted such concern rented a storage unit on December 19, 2014. At no time after the rental of such unit did the customer (or anyone on his behalf) place his...

own lock on the unit door in question. Management advised the party of the importance of locking the unit, as the storage facility is not responsible for loss from theft of or damage to user's personal property. The last payment received by management from the customer was on May 3, 2015. At the time of such payment, it was stated by the customer that only a few items remained in the unit and he planned on vacating such unit by month-end. Since there was no lock on the unit door, management checked the unit several times after such payment was received to see if the customer had, in fact, removed his remaining personal property. On May 23, 2015, the unit was inspected by management and was found to be empty. It was, therefore, assumed that the customer removed the remaining items from the storage unit in question and the customer was then 'moved-out' of the current customer database. No lock was changed by management, as there was no lock to be changed. The storage unit in question was not included in a recent auction of delinquent units and, furthermore, management never stated to the customer that his belongings were auctioned. The rental agreement specifically states:"It is expressly understood that Management carries no insurance covering User's goods and assumes no liability for same."The rental agreement further states:"MANAGEMENT CARRIES NO INSURANCE IN WHICH IN ANY WAY COVERS ANY LOSS WHATSOEVER THAT USER MAY HAVE IN THE UNIT OR PREMISES AND HENCE USER MUST OBTAIN ANY INSURANCE DESIRED AT HIS EXPENSE. MANAGEMENT STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT USER SECURE HIS OWN INSURANCE TO PROTECT HIMSELF AND HIS PROPERTY AGAINST ALL PERILS MANAGEMENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR LOSS FROM THEFT, VANDALISM, FIRE, WATER, HURRICANE, RAIN, EXPLOSION, OR ANY OTHER CAUSES WHATSOEVER.....""USER MUST TAKE WHATEVER STEPS ARE NECESSARY TO SAFEGUARD WHAT IS ON OR IN THE SPACE."The customer/user's disregard to place a lock on the unit door to secure his personal property may have resulted in the loss of his property by theft. As previously stated, management is not liable for loss as a result of theft or any other causes, and management carries no insurance in which in any way covers any loss whatsoever.Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact me at ([redacted].Very truly yours,PERRY STORAGE MANAGEMENT, INC.

when such equipment malfunctions or a power failure occurs. Prior to the concerned customer's complaint, an individual drove through one of the gates at Perry Storage, completely dislodging the gate, as well as the gate controller. As a result of such incident, it was necessary for Perry Storage to order a new gate and controller to replace the damaged equipment. It was also decided by Perry Storage to purchase a new controller for the second gate, a new gate module, new key pads for both gates, and to run all new wiring. Both gates are now functioning properly. The new gate controllers are equipped with a locking mechanism which prevents access to the power switch, except by key. Only management and contractors consulted by management will have key access.

Beware of these guys! They will do all they can to cheat you out of your deposit. They will make promises and not keep them. They could have easily solved the problem and had a happy customer but they would rather cheat you out of your money. I would not recommend Perry Storage to anyone!
