Charging my business for damage their repair crew caused.
I own the Tropical Smoothie Cafe at *** XXXXX. We had a compressor go out on a walk-in and engaged with Perry's Refrigeration to fix. During the repair of the compressor on the roof (which we paid for), Perry's crew caused additional damage breaking the seal around the lines going to the walk-in from the compressor. We had heavy rains over the weekend which resulted in our store flooding. Perry's came back after about a week and fixed the damage, and at no time was there ever mentioned an additional charge to fix. I subsequently received an invoice 60 days later for $350. I then called Perry's and they denied causing the damage saying it resulted from a flimsy roof. We have had other crews on the roof (which is part of a strip mall set up) and never had a problem. Also, when the damage was fixed at no time was a quote given or cost discussed. I don't believe I should have to pay for damages caused by Perry's crew as they should accept responsibility for the damage caused. Otherwise results in unfair business practice where they are able to get more revenue out of jobs by causing additional problems.
The outstanding charge of $350 removed.
Tropical Smoothies roof repair
ON 11-01-2019 Perry's Refrigeration repaired a pitch pocket for refrigeration line set going through the roof. This was the results from a call I had from Tropical Smoothie having a water leak during a rain after respires were made on a Walk-in cooler. During the investigation of the roof leak I found that the roof sinks severely as you walk across it. The pitch pocket moved also. The original pitch pocket was very old and in need of repair (see Pic), I explained this to Tropical Smoothie and gave details of how we repair this problem using a two part method. Excited T.S. loved the ideal. The next day we repaired the pitch pocket leak, We then had the work order signed. I also sent before and after pictures, every one was happy. I waited several weeks to make sure there was no leaks and processed the work order to billing. on 12-18-2019 a invoice of $350 was mailed to Tropical Smoothie for payment. I was charged a $120 fee to turn on a gas fireplace that they initially installed over the summer. I was shocked as was the technician. When I inquired as to why he said that "the office said that's the flat feel for them to even come out". I waited until a business day but would have been better off paying another companies emergency fee!
