Driver did not show up. When I called he said he was running 1 hour late...I missed my flight. It cost me $300 to rebook a new flight. And I am still waiting for the company to refund the money I paid for the ride that never happened. It has been 12 days...

Review: To say that I was looking forward to my vacation would be an understatement. But before my trip even began I was completely derailed by my off-putting experience of Personalized Luxury Transportation (PLT). The morning of June 21st my fianc decided that he would surprise me by taking the morning off to take me to the airport. I was disappointed that he wouldnt be able to since I had already made my reservation with a car service. I got a phone call from the driver letting me know he was at my residence. We both went downstairs and when we didn't see a sedan we thought the driver may have been at the wrong address. Not until the driver emerged from a van did we realize that I was being picked up in an OLD, BEAT-UP looking passenger van. This vehicle was definitely not pictured on their website in their fleet of vehicles and was far from the "luxury" sedan that I had paid for. It looked like someone's personal van and not something a professional business would use for client pick up. Once at the airport and my bags were unloaded I went to tip the driver and when I asked for change he looked at me and said Its $14. I was confused since I had already paid for my voucher and did not recall any sort of non-included fee that needed to be paid at drop off. I questioned the driver about this and he said, All I know is that Im supposed to get $14", and that if I had a problem with that I could speak to Anthony. I was not in the mood nor did I have the time to argue so I gave him the $14. As I sat in the airport waiting for my flight I pulled up my voucher from [redacted] and looked at the e-mail confirmation sent to me by PLT to see if Id missed any fine print regarding the $14 fee Id been charged. Nowhere on any of the paperwork did it mention a $14 fee or mandatory gratuity that needed to be paid to the driver upon my arrival at the airport. I contacted [redacted] Local and explained what had just happened. [redacted] was very apologetic and refunded me the price of my voucher. Unfortunately since there was no tip stipulated anywhere on their voucher I was informed that I would have to contact the company directly in order to get a refund of the $14 I had given the driver. On June 25th I contacted the company. At first I spoke with someone by the name of [redacted] who appeared very unprofessional and not very interested in the fact that I had any sort of complaint about the company. After briefly explaining to him about the $14 charge [redacted] very abruptly told me that if I had any complaints I needed to speak with [redacted]. The next morning I called and asked to speak with [redacted], instead I got [redacted] on the phone again. [redacted] said that [redacted] was not available and very exasperatedly asked me why I was calling again? I repeated the entire story to [redacted] and explained how I was not satisfied with their deceptive business practices and that I had reported their company to [redacted] Local but now wanted the $14 that I had been charged under false pretenses. After explaining this to [redacted] his response was to act like he didnt understand the reason for my call or complaint. Instead he chose to focus on the fact that it states on the voucher that a tip is not included and that $14 is a standard 20% tip. I let [redacted] know that I completely understood that gratuity was not included however as a consumer it is up to my discretion to determine the amount of tip I wanted to give and felt slighted that I had been forced to tip an amount under the ruse that it was mandatory. [redacted] then asked what it was that I wanted since I had already received a full refund from [redacted]. I let [redacted] know that although I had been reimbursed by [redacted] they did not reimburse me for the amount I was out of pocket. [redacted] seemed annoyed with the fact that I had gotten a free ride to the airport and was now trying to get a refund for an amount that should never have been charged to me in the first place and told me that I was being cheap and was not going to get my money back. Finally in order to pacify me he offered a complimentary car service to the downtown area within the next few months. Since I had already been on the phone with him for longer than I wanted and feeling that continuing with the conversation was a moot point, I decided I was done arguing and agreed to think about his offer. After careful consideration I have decided that I DO NOT want any sort of business, free or not, with a company that has such wanton and flagrant disregard for their consumer as well as deals in such obtrusive and blatant misleading industry practices. Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, Against Deceptive Acts or Practices (specifically regarding false advertisement) clearly states that in order for a consideration of false advertising to be made there has to be a representation, omission or practice that misleads the consumer. Based on the fact that not only did the company FALSELY ADVERTISE transportation in a luxury vehicle and instead came to transport me in a passenger van, but that the driver LIED about a fee that was supposed to be paid to him.Desired Settlement: $14 tip that I paid to the driver under the false pretense that it was mandatory.
