Regarding *** *** *** (Owner, Midas of Richmond) response to my original complaint, he has an inaccurate statement. "The truck had the transmission rebuilt months ago, and it appears an internal component has failed We all agree on that." This is not accurate, I do not agree to that statement
My position is the truck was driven irresponsibly while in Midas' possession; therefore, Midas is responsible To have the truck repaired under warranty in MD, I incurred the cost to have the vehicle towed to MD
My mom also incurred the cost of a rental vehicle because I am under the age of an unable to rent a vehicle, so I was forced to borrow her vehicle I also lost a day's wages because I had to miss work and travel to MD to borrow my mom's vehicle
Therefore, I am not satisfied with *** *** offer of a $good faith refund

I have been in touch w the person involved and his father. The truck had the transmission rebuilt 4 months ago, and it appears an internal component has failed. We all agree on that. It failed while on a test drive at our store, so the customer feels we are responsible.

this is an unfortunate situation, we are not the responsible party. The garage that rebuilt the transmission seems to have agreed to repair it, according to the customer, if the truck is towed there.
We have agreed to give the customer a good faith refund of $200 for the work that he authorized here. That is all of the credit we will be absorbing on this.
This is the fourth or fifth complaint these folks have lodged in the last few days, the volume of complaints will not change my response to the same.
Our position, as stated here, is the final position we will have on the matter.
