Just finished with dealing with PESA Construction. Passed to him and his business from [redacted] who was referred to me by realtor. [redacted] passed job to PESA after quote agreement was made and total demolition was completed leaving me in a bad situation. I did not know that the realtor didn't know of PESA Construction. Their private deal costs me additional money and completely threw off my completion plan.
Blueprints were not presented to me in the beginning, or later when requested after I discovered they were not drawn up to the current design of my back deck that I requested be replaced. He made changes to the design, did not tell me or show me the blueprints before construction began. It was pure luck that I saw discrepancies in design and stopped the construction. I had to demand that they alter to conform with my previous design. Because City of Vallejo asked for updated blueprints and roof was not done to standards, I was charged additional money.
Refused to show or give me receipts until all the work was finished, but demanded payment every 30 days even though his crew wasn't working on my place or adhering to my deadlines. Project began in November 8, 2015 and was promised to be finished in 8 to 9 weeks. Project wasn't completed until June 2016. I had to stay in a hotel for several months because I couldn't move in, costing me over $3,000. extra.
Price to do the deck was raised by over $5,000. Electrical was raised over $500.
Appliances I asked for him to save to reuse (in good condition) he threw away, which cost me additional money to replace.
Did not cover up or protect other areas of home from dirt and dust as they worked which caused a lot of additional cleaning before I could move in. Fine white dust was in every closet and on the walls, etc. I also had to get rid of the drapes I planned to use. They couldn't be cleaned.
This job was very stressful, and I had many sleepless nights. I don't feel he listened to me, he never wrote things down. He talked on the phone while I was having a conversation with him. He asked me not to text him anymore. I was texting because he was not communicating with me, and holding my job up while he went to other job sites.
Some of his workers were very nice, and listened, and tried to accommodate me. But, many spoke no English, making communication difficult.
