Charged us over $and didn’t open the main sewerStarted telling me about the other services they had to figure out why it wouldn’t clear$more to do any more work I wouldn’t call them again

Get it in writing This company works off invoices on I-pads so there is only a subsequent email that in my case did not reflect the return policy that the technician presented to me We replaced our water softener with a whole-house carbon filter and an anti-scaling device, to the tune of $4, Since it was different technology I asked before I agreed to buy, what the return policy was and was told that I had a year to return with a restocking fee of 15%, but that I should wait at least months to really give the technology "a chance" That was in Aug Subsequently, I had a Ben Franklin technician come to my home to do monthly maintenance on my water heater and we had enough of this carbon filter and the skin issues it caused us I asked that he return the product and quote a water softener replacement He contacted his manager, who inquired who I had talked to and did I have the return policy in writing Since I did not, he said there was nothing he could do I have been a Ben Franklin Society member for almost years, meaning I paid an annual fee to get priority service from the company (which I never used) When I asked to have my issue escalated, they had the original tech call me, but when I returned his call, I never got a response I asked for a customer complaint contact via voice mail and never got a reply I replaced the carbon filter and anti-scaling device, after less than months, completely at my expense The lesson, don't take anyone's word for anything and don't pay anything until you get all conditions in writing This was a case of my stupidity, but I will never do business with this company again

Benjamin Franklin plumbing just completed the installation of a brand new water heater at my home This water heater has yet to produce any hot water Initially called the warranty service line and was told that the earliest I could have a technician out to troubleshoot it was tomorrow between 12-4pm and that I would be charged a $service fee I found this unacceptable for a newly installed unit from a company that offers 24/service for emergencies They should be ready to correct their mistakes more quickly than that and at no expense So, I called their main phone line and was told now that actually they had no appointments between 12-tomorrow and the actual service time would be 4-7pm This is outrageous for a new product which has just completed installation and hasn't worked yet I couldn't be more disappointed!

If we could give a review with star, we would, but unfortunately one "whole star" is the minimumTheir slogan, "We do it right the first time!" We found out; not even close
We called for emergency repair of a water supply line failure at our homeA tech showed up and offered up a fairly expensive quoteWe had had one good experience with BFP, so we thought that their higher cost would result in a superior result and repairWe were so wrong! The tech found the damaged coupling and he became a little confused; he had "never seen a water line like this one.” He "doubted he could find a part" to repair it
The next hours of the day were spent "trying to find the right parts." The BFP parts manager was on vacation, and no one in the office knew where to lookBy 6PM, they located a part, far away from usThey started on the repair at 8:AM, when we signed their digital estimate! As it turned out, the part they "got specially for our repair," was a "temporary fix only, and incomplete in the package
They could not warrant the repair, because it was improvised and only offered a ten-times-the-cost alternative repair
You should never call this company for any work at your home or businessThe owner of the company would not take our calls, and their "customer service" people became belligerentWe are stuck with a huge hole in our drivewayDo not call company, for anythingI know we never will

On May 19, at approximately 7:pm, I noticed a significant flow of water from the south edge of my front yard, flowing over the sidewalk and into the streetI called the City of Phoenix to get an assessment of the situationA representative from the city arrived within an hour and immediately recognized that the leak was coming from the house main line, and therefore, not the city's domainSo, I then searched for plumbing companies and decided to call Benjamin Franklin plumbing, upon noticing the Revdex.com Ethics Award highlighted on their website
I called the company and was told that they may have difficulty doing any work because it was dark; I informed the dispatch person that the house has a street light and the area of the leak is relatively well-lit, so with a possible portable light, there should be no problemAt about 9:30, “Danny” arrivedI walked out to the edge of the front yard with him and showed him the leak, though this was most likely obvious to him upon exit

I recently contacted Benjamin Franklin to resolve a water leak coming from ceiling of a downstairs bedroom After making the necessary cuts into drywall (ceiling and walls) to assess the issue, they located the problem behind the upstairs shower stating the copper pipe had several leaks They quoted me a fee of almost $to repairSince this was a rental property, and having had the water turned off pending repairs, I couldn't very well leave my tenant without water - so I agreed to have them repair
I had contacted my home owners’ insurance immediately, but they were not able to arrive and assess before the plumber At any rate, the following day I spoke to my claims agent to ascertain what my insurance company would cover Ultimately, they will cover restoration of drywall, carpet, mediation, but none of the actual repairs to plumbing So far, so good
That said, the claims specialist reviewed the bill (which he felt was high) and requested specifics for the 'cost for labor to cut open the drywall only' as they do cover that part
SO HERE IS MY ISSUE: They provided me with a lump sum receiptI requested an itemized statement as I wanted to see EXACTLY what I had paid for What they provided to the agent was not in sync with the 'Estimate for Repairs' I received Although the total was the same, the line item naming was different which then shifted the cost of line items I then requested how ‘labor’ is calculated - per hour? and how much? I was attempting to get to a number I could understand The response was: '...we are a flat rate company- we don’t have a charge for “cutting drywall.” Things like access and cutting drywall are included in our up-front price for repairs.'
OK All I want is a line item statement! How much did I pay for the service each step of the way? I am NOT comfortable with the 'up-front price for repairs', AND this response does not answer my question posed above
