Pet Emergency Clinic
Regarding the compliant made by *** ***
We feel she does not have a valid compliant
Mrs*** brought *** in to be treated on Sunday January 10, by the Pet Emergency Clinic. On Monday morning she was transferred to our Small Animal Internal Medicine service*** was evaluated by DrS*** and she drew up a treatment plan along with the cost of that planThey went over the plan and *** authorized treatment and estimate. DrS*** and her staff gave repeated updates on the condition of *** along with any additional costs. She was aware that her hour estimate at the start of treatment was between $1,and $1,That amount did increase due to *** needing further care with the euthanasia charge included, and she was also given an additional estimate for these costs. She put $1,deposit down and her balance was $1,231.35, her total bill was $2,
The $dollars she has stated in her statement was for an ultrasound that was charged by Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging (they lease space in our building) it was not our charge
The $1,231.35 balance included the euthanasia feeWhen they came down our receptionist ran their credit card and *** *** did sign the receipt (we have his signature and witnesses, of which work for the other businesses in this building)*** has been threatening to our receptionist and has declined any attempts to clarify the charges. We have since banned her from the premises due to her threatening nature to our employees
She has since disputed the charge with her credit card company and we responded back to themThey agreed with Pet Emergency Clinic that it was a valid charge and returned to funds back to Pet Emergency Clinic
Sincerely,
Sandra C***

Review: We took our dog to the Pet Emergency Clinic in late Saturday night, June 22. He was lethargic, breathing a little heavy and not eating. The Dr talked to us and looked at him. We were told he needed xrays which we consented to and signed for. The cost was $313 for xrays and $100 for the visit so far. They took the xrays. The Dr told us looked like he had pneumonia and everything else looked ok, just a little bit of fluid but heart and other functions were fine. She gave him an anti-biotic shot and a one week supply of 2 types of antibiotics and told us to follow up with our regular vet the following week. When we went to pay, we were pretty shocked at the total not made aware that the antibiotics cost so much. The original total bill was for $990, but that was with 2 weeks of antibiotics. We could not afford that so we opted for 1 weeks supply which took our bill down to $843.50 which we paid and left. Less that 12 hours later, our dog started having convulsions and died suddenly in front of our kids. We later found out the radiologist said he had bronchitis. What I don't understand is that if he was that bad, how come the dr made it seem like he would be fine after a treatment of antibiotics. We asked about whether he would need to stay overnight and were told no he would be fine at home. He was displaying the same symptoms when he passed as he did the night before. He didn't act any different nor did his health seem any worse. He convulsed then died violently. I think there was a misdiagnosis here and it was not at all handled properly. The ball was dropped on this. We paid $845 and our beloved great dane is dead. We later called the clinic to see if they would at least refund us for the meds. He only had taken it once after we left the clinic. We had 4 bottles, 3 were never opened or used. They told us they would give us $50 which was 1/4 of what we had just paid hours earlier.Desired Settlement: I am asking for $430.50 refund of the total $843.50 bill which is what is left after the $100 visit fee and $313 for the xrays, though if this were a normal business and a service was botched like this a full refund would be in order. I think this is a fair offer considering we lost our pure bred dog, paid $843 and had to pay for him after his death.
