Review: I have purchased several fish from this store. Several 100 $$ worth in fact. Two of these fish died within 24 Hr after I placed them in my aquarium. This store supposedly provides a 7 day guarantee on fish purchased. I did not make an issue of the first fish I purchased that died. However, the second fish was expensive so I returned it to the store the next day, within 24 hr of purchase, asking them to honor the guarantee and provide a replacement. The store refused to do so claiming the water in my aquarium is bad. I dispute this because if the water in my aquarium was bad it would affect ALL the fish in my aquarium not just the two bad ones I purchased at Pet Kingdom. All the other fish in my aquarium are healthy. Secondly, I had my water tested at another pet store and they told me there is no reason a healthy fish should not survive in my aquarium.

Parenthetically, I found the service rude and discourteous. I will never patronize this store again.

As for the current complaint lodged against us regarding the issue of the fish that died, I nor my fish room manager were aware of the problem, until the Revdex.com brought it to my attention today. I am personally not aware of the situation, but we have been business for 32 years and it would not be so if we treated customers badly. I was assured that the test on the claimant's water he brought in tested over the limits of safety for the fish. However, it is not worth losing a customer over this issue, so if I could obtain the information needed to send him the $45.00 dollars I will do so immediately. The guarantee we issue with fish purchases explicitly states that we need a water test to confirm the quality of the water the fish are placed into...in this regard the water he brought in was not appropriate. The fact that he took a water sample into another store does not prove the sample he took into us was the same in either time frame or the same water. Water chemistry changes with time, temperature, and quality of the sample. In any event, please let me know the best information to get this customer his refund.

This is a follow up to subject complaint. It's been over 1 month and Pet Kingdom has not reimbursed me the $45 they committed to when I agreed to their response to subject. At this point I am no longer asking for a refund. I do believe Pet Kingdom's failure to honor their warranty and failure to "immediately" reimburse me validates my initial complaint.

I asked to be given the complainants address so that I can send him the money. That information was not forthcoming. I sold the store on Oct. 23, 2013, and I am still ready and willing to send the money to the customer, but I have nowhere to send the money to. If he would give you his address or in the alternative I could send the check to the Revdex.com and they could forward it to him that would also be satisfactory. I have been trying to resolve this and have been thwarted in my efforts due to my inability to have a place to send the check. I still stand behind my offer of a refund in the amount of requested ($45.00), and will get it into the mail on the same day I get the information needed.
