Pete's Plumbing Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I still believe that Precision Door is using their Lifetime Limited Warranty to solicit customers in a dishonest fashionThey required that I select the "Partial Agreement" because I did not go with their $rebuild of my garage door downgrading the now advertised year warranty to a day warrantyIf the consumer receives a quote of $for spring replacements and views their Lifetime Limited Warranty online, they will be under the assumption that their repair and parts will be covered for yearsIn addition, when the consumer calls to request an appointment for a repair as I did, the representative does not inform the consumer that some parts are covered, others are not, and that their warranty may or may not be in effect for the full years.Furthermore, if you view the warranty on their website, the warranty information does it indicate that you need to purchase a more expensive spring to qualify or make all of the additional technician's suggested repairsIt states that "this warranty begins when repairs or ANY installation are complete." As a consumer, how would you know this by looking at the warranty prior to the technician coming out to install the springsBy this time, they are out at your home making the needed repairsThis is dishonest and unfair advertisingThe following is the warranty information as viewed online:"How Long Coverage LastsThis warranty begins when repairs or any installation are completeThis warranty cannot be transferredFor repairs to an existing garage door, the warranty runs from years to as long as the original customer owns the repaired garage doorFor a new garage door installation, the labor warranty continues for as long as the manufacturer's warranty continues on the garage doorThis warranty terminates if the original customer sells or no longer owns the repaired or new garage door."By the way, we had our garage door serviced by a competitor, Overhead Door, May 29th, and after the springs were replaced the garage door was thoroughly inspectedThere were no additional repairs required to the garage door indicating that Precision Door's recommendation four years ago to rebuild my garage door for $was unwarranted and deceitful. How do we as the consumer really know if these additional repairs are warrantedAs in my case, four years later my garage door, itself, is still functioning correctlyShould I shell out the $dollars to have the garage door rebuilt and purchase the upgraded springs just to have the spring warranty extended for years on a $repair? Precision Door states that they have the best warranties in the industry and stand behind this statementThey also do a good job of giving you just enough information to solicit your business and then use several loop holes to disqualify said warranty to benefit themselves monetarily Thank you for your time in this matter
Regards,

To whom it may concern;*** did reach out to both our local office today, and the corporate office for Precision Door We both felt like we listened to her complaint and concern and made a valiant effort to explain both our policy and her particular job We do have the best warranties in the industry and I strongly stand behind that Attached is the wording found in our website that is referenced as well as Mrs *** invoice Front and Rear The portion she continues to reference is immediately followed by "Partial Service Warranty" As you can see in her invoice she had selected partial service, which according to the warranty gives me the right to limit the warranty repairs to daysI however in my location still give a minimum of year on warranted repairs In addition in my location I offer standard springs as an option, this is not the best value or long term option for repair but it is cheaper to repair that day(more expensive in the long run because they have to be replaced more often), this option at that time included a year warranty on parts and labor(better than all competitors at that time), we later increased it to years on the part and year on labor after competitors increased their warranties Mrs *** would still not be covered under the updated warrantyThis would typically all be clearly explained at the time of service and we strive to give the best options to every customer Unfortunately I can't ask the technician about their conversation that was almost years ago, nor do I believe Mrs *** can recollect the conversation or options as they were explained to her Both I and our Corporate headquarters also spent a significant amount of time on this today, and we were as always happy and eager to help Please do help on this matter, both I and our corporate headquarters feel the wording on the website is both fair and honest, and as clearly stated as it can be with applying to thousands of customers, and many options we provide I think Mrs *** back in was given all options, and explained the difference but chose to spend the least amount that day and not fix other problems that were present These problems combined with her choosing the standard springs led to the short life of the spring Even if she hadn't fixed all the problems in the Overhaul package that was recommended but did go with the "High Cycle Springs" that we recommend she would have received a minimum of years on the part, however we would not be having this conversation because that spring would not likely be broken Thank you for any assistance you can provide
