Review: Hired Peter [redacted] to paint the inside of my home on December 26,28,29,30 of 2015. Hired him for many jobs over last 10 years and referred him a lot as well. First he states that he will move 2 fabrics tarps around but not cover my hardwood floors, I insisted or would cancel the job so he did cover but I had to cover my cabinets etc. myself. I packed and moved all furniture myself with the exception of the bed. My neighbor [redacted] came to help so we were 3 people. Peter would not remove the Tempur Pedic mattress which is very heavy" not necessary he said" and moved the bed without listening to me or my neighbor which got me extremely upset (the bedroom floor is covered with thick carpeting so it does not slide well). The last day on 12.30.15 he states that he has to leave at 3:45 pm for an appointment with a surgeon (his spouse had terminal cancer and he needed to discuss 24 hours care). the walls and ceiling in laundry room still needed 2nd coat and edges of ceiling in dining room as well. Because of our long term relationship I agreed to pay and finish after the holidays. He asked if I could pay cash instead of check as it was a holiday week-end and may have to pay a deposit if his wife had to be placed in 24 hours care, I fell bad for him so I rushed to the ATM and paid him $ 700, the invoice would be mailed. 3 weeks later I wish to take different sheets out of the drawer(bed frame has drawers underneath) but cannot open it, I thought it came out of the rail when he moved the bed but when the handyman and myself moved the mattress, the screws were broken and worse of all the frame was broken, no way of repairing as it is pressed wood. When I got a hold of Peter he said it was my responsibility although I told him NOT to move it, finally he said he would compensate me "to make it go away". This is over 1 month now and he never contacted me to settleis not returning my e-mail neither my calls, never finished the job, and I never got an invoice. Therefore I am contacting you for help. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank youDesired Settlement: compensation for the broken bedframe and for the unfinished job. After what happened I do not want him to finish the job anymore I will have somebody else do it
