I am rejecting this response because: The collection efforts were never made. We were never informed of this charge until the sheriff showed up at [redacted]'s place of work. We have no reason to try to avoid such a small invoice of her paying numerous others that were more than the one in question.  He never said he would ruin the business. Another lie. The billing person caused this error and we should now be reimbursed due to the stress this has caused, the humiliation of a sheriff showing up at the university where [redacted] works. That makes him look bad and he did nothing to deserve that. Do the right thing.

Yes, we are aware of this customer. We did a job for them on May 24, 2017, for $159.50    We ask for payment within 10 days, and that is clearly stated on our invoices and statements. We mailed them the invoice on May 25, 2017. We sent them follow-up statements on June 2, July 3, Aug...

1, and Sept 30. We wrote the debt off and turned it over to our collections company Oct 5, 2017. My collections company tells me that they sent the customer multiple requests for payment, and that they left multiple phone messages at both phone numbers we have for the customer. They received no response to their efforts, and they finally filed for judgement. After he was served, the customer called my office and yelled at my office employees. We offered him a credit on future work, as an attempt to settle the issue. He refused. When my husband called him back to discuss the matter, he yelled at my husband. He denied that we had done the work at all. When we showed him that we had a signature on the invoice from the time of service, he changed his story and demanded that we write off the bill, that we pay all of his expenses and costs, and then stated that he was going to destroy our business over this bill. At this point I'm not sure what else we can do. We have tried to get paid for our work, we have tried to settle with the customer, he refused. I'm not willing to offer our professional services for free, just because somebody demands that we do so.
