On September 15th 2016 we received a call from Mr. [redacted] at 14:15 to tow his Lexus from [redacted] located on Washington Street in Kent, WA and tow to [redacted]’s [redacted] at [redacted]nd St, Kent, WA. The reason for the car to be towed was it had alternator problems. Mr....
[redacted] drove in our tow truck along with are driver to [redacted]. Upon delivery and unhook of the car to [redacted], both our driver and customer [redacted] noted that the back rear passenger rim had flaked off the plastic dip coating from the strap that secured the car while in tow. The plastic dip to these rims were dipped by the owner of the car himself Mr. [redacted]. (After Market)
On that same day of September 15th 2016 our dispatcher on duty received a call at 18:15 hrs call from Mr. [redacted] claiming we did damage to his vehicle in relationship to his rim mentioned above. Our truck supervisor Kenneth R[redacted] got the message and made several attempts returning his calls on 9-16-2016 at 16:00, and again on 9-19-2016 at 13:25 with no success in reaching Mr. [redacted]. With no success we found out later that our dispatcher transposed the last four digits of his phone # from which should have been ([redacted] and noted on our end as ([redacted])
On October 10th 2016 Mr. [redacted] came to our Kent facility, he met and spoke to one of our other tow truck drivers in regards to the damage to his vehicle. Our driver (David P[redacted]) in turn called his supervisor Kenneth R[redacted] to let him know that Mr. [redacted] wants to discuss the damage to his vehicle. Mr. [redacted] and Mr. R[redacted] made arrangement to meet at our Kent location around 4:00pm after Mr. [redacted] got off work from [redacted].
On that day of October 10th both Mr. R[redacted] and Mr. [redacted] met up at our Kent location. Our supervisor Ken R[redacted] was under the impression and knowledge that he was dealing with the plastic dip seal that got rubbed off the rim from the strap that was previously noted by Mr. [redacted] and our driver who originally towed it in. To Mr. R[redacted] surprise Mr. [redacted] expressed additional damage to his vehicle. (Note) Mr. [redacted] in his complaint mentioned that he dealt with Gary P[redacted] not the case, it was Kenneth R[redacted] our truck supervisor.
Mr. R[redacted] viewed the additional damage that Mr. [redacted] claims we did. Mr. R[redacted] noted that the front undercarriage driver’s side behind the front bumper was damaged from hitting something causing the structure of the bumper to crack. The scratches that are in question that he also claims are on both upper outer sides of the passenger side and driver’s side. These scratches appear to look like the vehicle hit a curb of some sort causing the long gated side to side scratches. We have taken photo’s to support that there is no possible way we caused these damages.
Mr. [redacted] has had possession of his car for almost a full month and driving his vehicle after the original tow on September 15th 2016. At the time of the original tow if additional damage did occur it would have been dually noted by our driver and Mr. [redacted] at the time of drop off at [redacted]’s [redacted]. The only thing that was apparent was the strap rubbing off the plastic dip on the one rim. We believe that Mr. [redacted] is trying to blame fault on additional damage that occurred to his vehicle while in his possession. Mr. R[redacted] advised Mr. [redacted] that it would be in his best interest to contact his own Insurance Company to file his own claim, as we did not do these so called damages he claims we did.
