Pete's Handy Man Services Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.
I am astonished with [redacted]'s total lack of honesty in response to my complaint. Fortunately, we have all the documentation to confirm our claims. [redacted] did receive time stamped photos and copies of two quotes for the cost to repair his work from two independent contractors. We made every effort to allow [redacted] to come and inspect the results of his work and determine if he wanted to redo the work or refund us the money. I'm unsure how [redacted] can reliably say he did a satisfactory job if he was unwilling to return to my home to either confirm or discredit our claims of a job done poorly, as the paint was still wet when he left. If it does not conflict with your privacy policy,  we can send your office all correspondences with [redacted], correspondences with [redacted]s, time stamped photos, and the bids from two independent contractors for the cost of the repairs. Both contractors confirmed the skim coat, the priming, and the painting were done poorly, which is listed in the quotes to repair. [redacted]s has removed Pete's Handyman's Service from any affiliation with their business, after investigating the matter. [redacted] is more than welcome to come and inspect the job he did and do the right thing and refund us our money; we are no longer willing to have him do any work on our home. If [redacted] does not respond, within ten days, we are  contacting  the Attorney General's Office and taking [redacted] to Small Claims Court to seek both a full refund and court expenses.
Regards,
[redacted]

My name is [redacted] the owner of Pete's Handyman Service. I have been open now for 10 years and this is the first customer that has ever had a problem with me and my business. First this person hired me a year ago to hang curtains, and all had gone well. Then she was trying to contact me just...

recently November of 2015 and was calling the wrong number and was very worked up and called [redacted] called me and asked if I was avoiding her calls when I said she had been calling a different number they connected us. When I got in touch she seemed very upset and wasn't sure if there personal issues. She wanted me to go by her daughters house and look and give a price to skim coat and paint the sons bedroom. I had gone by and looked at the job and responded to her and her daughter that I would be back in touch with them in a week with a price. A day later I got a call from [redacted] asking what the price was, because they want this job done asap. So I worked on the numbers and sent them a text( this is not how I usually quote) I always send written quotes. The mother accepted the quote of 675.00 and were scheduled the skim coating and painting to be done. The first day there [redacted] explained to us (my workman and I) how to do our job and she was telling us to skim coat 2 coats and prime the walls and then paint. I explained to her how we do our work and that is how I quoted it. We skim coat , sand walls and then paint the walls. The paint has primer built in so 2 coats will do it. My employee had done the job and once he was done he asked [redacted] to look at the work to see if she was happy she said yes, so he left. The next day I got a call from [redacted] saying she would like the heater covers painted and explained to me the walls look questionable. I explained that the heater covers were not included but I would paint them as a courtesy at no charge. So once I had shown up at the job and saw that the room did need a another coat of paint and did need some touch ups. once I was working on the walls when [redacted]'s Aunt walked in and told me I should be ashamed of myself to call myself a business person and she was yelling. she was out of line. After 6 to 8 hours of additional work I performed to make the room to my quality of work I took [redacted] and her aunt up to the room they agreed it looked much better. I took off 75.00 for all the issues so it came to 600.00. As I was leaving [redacted] was talking about me coming back to do more work( flooring etc) I told her to call me. Not more than an hour later I had [redacted] her mother texting and calling me saying that I should return the money for lack of quality of work. I had asked her if she looked at the room after I completed the work and was not happy with it. There phone calls were saying the Holidays are here and money is tight and they wanted me to return money because of the work. These people seem to be the ones looking for a free ride and I don't work that way. They called [redacted] to complain and I spoke to [redacted] as well. I asked [redacted] with date stamped Pics and they sent Pic with out any date time stamps. I had looked at these and they looked the pictures and they looked like what I walked into from what my employee had left, These were not pictures of how I left the job. They did have a contract, they did not have time /date stamp, they don't have the receipt. I feel they are looking for free work to be performed and businesses should be aware of people like this.
