I am rejecting this response because: I received a letter that was dated Jan 22nd - that said I still owed $If Petro claims that the charges were removed on Jan 21st then why did I receive the letter dated Jan nd (attached in the response)Also given that I have spent over hrs on the phone and writing letters - I DEMAND PETRO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE INCOMPETENCE THAT PETRO HAS DEMONSTRATED AND THE INCONVENIENCE AND AGGRAVATION THAT THIS HAS CAUSED ME AND MY WIFE I am saving all of these emails - I see a small claims court trip in the works here

Review: we had a service contract with the petro oil company we called and were told if we didn't call and cancel it would automaticly renew. We canceled the contract and notified the company that we were no longer going to use them because of their high prices and this was back in aug or sept. today we received a delivery receipt from petro for a oil delivery on 11/26/13 My husband called and they are trying to say we never canceled with them. Thus proving why we have changed companies because of their shady business practices. They want us to pay a ridiculous high bill for oil they delivered. Their oil is more than a dollar more a gallon! They are saying they have a phone conversation of me and they will "play" it back and see what the conversation say.I advised them I want to hear this conversation myself. they said no.Desired Settlement: We do not want to pay for a product we didn't ask for and have expressly told them we didn't want and wouldn't be using the company.

Response:

We have spoken with the customer. We have agreed upon a reducted price for delviery. Customer account has been canceleld at this time. Regards,

Review: Switch oil companies went with Petro becuase prices was cheaper. Verbally we agreed on a specific price and the deliver the next month with no problems on the second month of delivery the couldn't delivery the oil because they said the gauge was broken and the tank was unbalance. I contact Petro regarding the delivery and was infomed that our account was closed. I explained that we never have any problem with tank or the gauge and if they could send another delivery guy and they told me that my acount closed which left us with no oil for a week, we had to go to a gas station

to get diesel until we found another oil company which came to our house deliver the oil and never said that there was something wrong with the tank or gauge. Months later we received a bill for $513.37 which they said is for early termination of contract when never closed the account they told us that is was closed. I never verbally or written gave the the choice to closed my account.Desired Settlement: Waive the penalty for early termination since I didn;t closed the account.

Response:

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize in advance if you feel we did not clearly explain the reasons our Technician determined your oil tank unsafe for deliveries. Petro takes great pride in ensuring our customer’s satisfaction and Safety. In your situation, after our Technician conducted an inspection of the oil tank and found a leaking valve along with an uneven tank. We suspended your deliveries due to our environmental safety concerns. We attempted to reach you in regards to this issue on multiple occasions via phone, mail and email starting May 09, 2014; we received no return calls or emails to Petro from you until June 30, 2014. We value all our customers, suspending deliveries is always the last course of action for us. However, when necessary we will take such action but always keep our customer informed of the necessary steps to correct safety concerns or issues. Regarding the charge for $599.99, we are open to discussing your Early Termination Fee and find a resolution that is appropriate and fair to you and to Petro. Please contact our Customer Service Manager [redacted] to discuss your satiation and get a quick resolution. Review: I had over paid Petro Oil to the amount of approximately $4,270.00 dollars through my online [redacted] on June 3, 2013. when I realized it, I contacted my [redacted] and was instructed to contact Petro given that the payment had been processed by [redacted]. As such, I reached out to Petro Oil a few minutes thereafter, and was told by a staff[redacted] that within the next five business days online check would be cleared, and they would subtract their payment of approximately $789.00 and issue my refund of approximately $4,280.00 dollars. On June 13, 2013, I placed a follow-up call to Petro Oil-[redacted] and asked to speak with the previous staff[redacted]. [redacted] informed me that my issued check was cleared and requested my forwarding information of where to mail out my refund. After providing the requested information, I was told by [redacted] that I should expect my refund within 10 business days from June 13, 2013. On July 15, 2013, I placed another follow-up call to Petro Oil after there has been no sign of my refund. It was the same staff[redacted] who answered my call. I then inquired about my refund, and was first told by [redacted] that Petrol Oil had a name of [redacted] in the system who Petro claimed had left a message with for me, when in fact my number on file is a cell phone and no one else answers my phone and also no one within my household goes by that name. I confronted [redacted] about the lie that he just told and requested to speak with his supervisor. [redacted]'s supervisor dismissed [redacted]'s account of what the circumstance was and said it was an accounting problem. I informed [redacted] that the practice of Petro Oil was direct violation my rights as a consumer, and was within the scope of deceptive/fraudulent business practices, and I was going to seek legal actions to ensure that my refund was paid promptly.Desired Settlement: Total refund plus the cost of filing and legal fees associated with resolving this problem.

Response:

We certainly apologize for the delay in sending [redacted]l the refund of $4,217.37. The difficulty on our end was mainly due to the name on the check which resulted in the overpayment being different than the name on the account. Also the representative, [redacted] who [redacted] references in his complaint misspoke if he mentioned that a lady named [redacted] called and left [redacted] a message. There is a note on the account about a message being left from the Accounting department for myself, [redacted], as the Customer Service Manager because I was involved in trying to get this resolved. In reviewing that note and relaying to [redacted] must have misspoke or misread the note on the account.

At this time we do show that the refund check has been received and cleared our bank.

We will gladly credit any fees shown to be a result of this delay as well if [redacted] can send us documentation of the fees.

Review: I orderd fuel oil for 3 Schoolhouse ln in [redacted] nj [redacted] On 2/18/2015. My credit card was charged $407 and was given a delivery date of 4-5 days. On 3/2/2015 I received a call from [redacted] in the office stating that the adress was out of the delivery zone and the oil will not be delivered and I would be getting a refund. The sale representative was advised that the was for and vacant. My concrrn is why would it take 12 days to figure out that the address was not on the delivery zone. If any damage occured from the heat being off occured I plan to take action against to company. I was advised that athe delivery supervisor would be calling me, I never received a call.Account# [redacted]Desired Settlement: Give me a call as stated and take care of any damages that might have occured.

Review: My mother was and now I am a customer of this company for over yearsI feel that we are being taken complete advantage of by this company as are other consumers in more ways than onedays ago, I placed a call to customer service and inquired as to the price of a gallon of heating oil if I were to obtain delivery the next day($3.72) I then confirmed this the following day when I spoke to the manager of the local office in Plainfield [redacted]After a lengthy conversation expressing my concerns and previous problems to him I felt a little better about this company but still not a lotWell what little bit of hope he had inspired, was shattered today upon my arrival at home and finding an envelope for a delivery of gallons of oil at $per gallonThese folks are out of their minds completely and are doing nothing but fleecing the consumerOil is at year lows right now, as is heating oilAnd most experts feel it is not going back up any time soonThe state average for heating oil as of yesterday is $per gallon in my area if I read it correctlyWhat gives this company the right to charge more than cents above that ?? Unless these fools do not know how to buy oil or understand the concept of cost averaging like most other businesses do, there is something grossly wrong hereWhen you do call and actually get a manager and not a supervisor, the middle man, they are fantastic at talking in circles, and constantly apologizingThey hear you but do not listenI am convinced more than ever before that some executive in this company has a sign posted in his office or on his desk that reads "Greed is Good"I absolutely refuse to pay cents more than the state average to anyone, but even more so when the explanations are lame and the invoicing as I can prove over the last two years, leaves lots to be desiredAsk these people what they charge a new signup as I have heard they get completely different pricing, always lowerBad business if true.Desired Settlement: Get in line with the rest of the state oil companiesOil closed today for December delivery at a little over $per barrel and heating oil for January is at $I shudder to see what these fools will be priced at in both December and January as it appears the consumer is never passed on any savingsThey must have stock piled oil in August and July when it was still at over $per barrel and until that is depleted, we will have our pockets picked and literally be tipped over so that every last dime is shaken out of usEither credit back the gross overcharge which is blatantly obvious if you look at various websites that records the daily average price of heating oil in the state as well as county by countyEveryone is entitled to a profit, but like gas stations, gouging is an entirely different storyAnd this is gouging if there ever was

As of Jan 30th Petro has sent me a bill for $184 for the Service Agreement and are now suggesting it will be refereed to collections. I didnt renew my contract for 2015 why am I still being sent billsDesired Settlement: For the time and agitation incurred I am asking Petro for $500, else I will take Petro to small claims court
