Petrucci Heating and cooling worked on my air conditioning three different times and each time I was told there was another problem. After the third time I ended up getting a different contractor that installed a new complete system for a little more than I ended up paying Petrucci for doing nothing.

Review: My furnace stopped working on Monday the 4th I called Petrucci due to the fact they installed my furnace for the Washington County Weatherization Program. They came out to my house did not have the part for the furnace, charged me 200 dollars, the service man showed my autistic son how to put the part on and he ordered it because he said if he comes back to put it on it will be another 200 dollars, I called the company they told me the same, they ordered the part and it was on it's way, I told them it was not right to finish this job and want to charge me 200 more dollars because they didn't have the part! I called another furnace man who is a friend but I called Petrucci because of the warranty of the parts on the furnace first. My friend told me how they hooked it up was not safe no 1 they took the wires from the part and put them in the holes where the furnace part plugs in....He told me my son could get shocked taking the plugs out because there is electric running through them and he could very easily blow a fuse on the furnace. I contacted the company they said they would come out for another 200 dollar charge, now mind this furnace was free because I am low income and this company now wants all the extra money I have for taxes! I never heard of such a thing it is so unethical not to finish a job, it is not my fault they didn't have the part I should not be charged double here. If they didn't have the part they should not have charged me this much until they could get out here and put the part on! I am having to pay this man coming out to put the part on another 40 dollars not right!!!!!Desired Settlement: I think since they could not deliver full service and repair my furnace and even charged for shipping and handling for the part they should give me refund at least half of it

Petrucci Heating, Cooling & Refrigeration, LL C January 8, 2016 To Whom It May Concern, Thank you for giving us the chance to respond to this complaint. We did install a furnace in Ms. [redacted] home in 2013 through the Weatherization Program. This furnace was installed at no charge to Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] did contact us on January 4th for a no heat situation. We explained to her that the parts in her furnace were still under warranty, but any labor charges incurred needed to be paid by her. She accepted these terms at that time. We had our technician out the same day to assess her situation. He determined the limit switch had gone bad in the unit. The technician did not have the exact replacement on his truck (and since this was under a parts warranty the direct replacement needed to be installed), so a replacement switch was ordered. The monies charged at that time were for the service call and labor to diagnose her problem. Under normal circumstances we have the replacement parts shipped to our shop and we return to install them when they arrive, however, in this case we were aware of the financial difficulties of the client. While we would have preferred to have our technician out to complete this repair, as a cost saving measure to her, we had the part shipped directly to her home and our technician showed her son how to install the part for when it arrived. This limit switch is actually a very simple installation. It only involves turning the furnace off at the service switch, and loosening, then tightening two screws. All of this was explained in detail to the son. Had we returned to Ms. [redacted]’s residence, she would have needed to pay for our additional labor, just the same as if we would have had the direct replacement part on our truck that day, she would have had to pay the additional labor for installation. Labor to install parts is completely separate from labor to diagnose, so the complaint that we would have been double charging her is unfounded. Ms. [redacted] did call us back on the afternoon of January 4th stating she was not sure if her son could handle replacing the part. Our office did explain to her again that we would be happy to come out an install the part when it arrives, but we would need to charge her for our labor. Ms. [redacted] was unhappy with this so it was agreed if her son ran into any problems he could call us and a technician would walk him through it over the phone. In conclusion, we believe Ms. [redacted]’s complaint is completely without merit since we cannot be expected to do work for which we will not get paid. Sincerely, Chris P[redacted] Owner
