Ms *** had called once in regards to the corn snake she had purchasedShe called to ask what could be making her corn snake twitchShe said before calling she looked on Google to see what would make her snake twitchShe was told on the phone that many different reasons could cause a snake to
twitchShe was informed that while google is a great resource for many things it is no substitute for a veterinarianShe asked if she could bring the snake to the store to see what was wrong, again she was told she should contact a veterinarianWe provide quality supplies and knowledge to our customers, but we are not veterinariansSnakes can become sick just like any other living creatureAfter asking to bring the snake in and being told to contact a veterinarian, she asked if she could bring the snake in for a refundShe was informed that after more than a month in her care we do not offer cash refundsReptile companies differ in guaranteesSome guarantee live animal only all the way through daysNo company offers a longer guarantee than daysMiss *** ended the phone conversation saying she would make a veterinarian appointmentMs *** never called the store with the veterinarian findings, nor did she call to say the snake had passedAs a pet owner Miss *** knew that the possibility of a vet visit can occurBy relying on google for answers to an unknown condition we cannot be responsible for the treatment or the condition of the snakeMs *** stated the snake had an illness herself, yet she did not take the snake to a veterinarian to see what caused the illnessWithout a veterinarian report there is no way to know if the illness was caused by environmental issues, congenital or hereditary problems, poor husbandry or mistreatmentIf Ms *** did take our advice and saw a veterinarian, she can be refunded the $she spent to purchase the snake if the veterinarians findings point to a congenital or hereditary problemAs for the thermometer all Ms*** needed to do was return it to the store with her receipt for a refund or replacementWe absolutely do not brush our customers offRather we try to make our customers responsible pet owners by relying on professional advise like a veterinarian not a google answer that could be written by a ten year oldShe mentioned that the snake was eating well after she bought it, it the animal was sick when she purchased it the snake would have not been eating and doing well for over a month, it would have gone down hill very fast
