Peyton's Place Reviews (3)

I spoke with the customer she states that a love seat she paid for was never processed in their system but they are refusing to refund her and they are refusing to return her fabric.

Review: On October 17, 2013, I wrote a check out to Peyton’s Place in the amount of $4,461.88 for the full purchase price of a [redacted] style sofa. The salesperson, [redacted], informed me at that time that my sofa would be ready in six to eight weeks. The check was cleared and posted to my checking account on October 28, 2013. On November 9, 2013, I placed a second order through Peyton’s Place for two [redacted] chairs ([redacted] and [redacted]) and a [redacted] sofa. Once again, I paid for all of these items in full totaling $5,342.35. This check was cleared and posted to my account on November 18, 2013. I requested Customer's Own Material (COM) for one of the chairs and was informed once again that the lead time would be six to eight weeks once the fabric was delivered to the manufacturer. During the last week of January when it was determined that my fabric selection was delaying the second order, I repeatedly asked that the two sofas and one chair be immediately scheduled for delivery. I was never given any indication or reason to believe that my orders had not been fulfilled or were not even in queue for production. After contacting Peyton’s place on a weekly basis for the entire month of February regarding the status of my orders and receiving no definitive answers or explanations, I decided to call [redacted] on Friday, February 28th to determine the status of my orders. I was immediately transferred to the regional sales representative who to my dismay informed me that my orders had never even been processed. It is terribly disconcerting to learn that after four months, Peyton's Place has not provided me with any of the merchandise that I have purchased and paid for in full. Nor have they shown any intentions of rendering this merchandise by having processed my orders. After learning that Peyton's Place had no intentions of ever processing my orders with one manufacturer, I was prompted to contact the sales representative at the other manufacturer, [redacted], to determine if an order had been placed with their factory. Once again, the national sales representative informed me that not only were there no open orders with Peyton's Place, but also that the account with Peyton's Place is inactive. This business has falsely presented themselves as furniture dealers for [redacted]. They accepted upholstery fabric and money without any intentions of ever rendering merchandise to me in return. They have attempted to continuously string me along by lying about getting an exact ship date for me. Even after I've already indicated to them that I know the truth. I have requested a prompt refund of my money and the return of my fabric.Desired Settlement: I would like a prompt refund in the form of a certified check, and I would like to pick up my upholstery fabric that they have lied about having shipped to the manufacturer when I know that they didn't.

Review: Ten plus weeks ago, I ordered (paid in full) window shades from Peyton's Place. After sending dozens of emails to the 2 owners of the company, I received a follow up email more than 2 months after placing the order stating that I need to pay an additional $891 for an additional surcharge. When I questioned that amount, they realized that they made a mistake and that amount should have been an additional $405. And now for 14 days I have been asking for clarification on that requested additional fee. I do not appreciate the defensive, accusatory and aggressive emails in response to my requests for clarification. ($405 is a lot of money, especially I addition to what I have already spent) I sent a final request for resolution to Peyton Slade, [redacted] of Peytons Place, on 27 June recapping the pertinent events, at least as I see it.1. The agreement as to the price of the goods was negotiated between Peyton Slade and I based upon a quotation I had received from a different company. I approached Peyton's Place to afford an opportunity to this local business to match, or come closer to this quotation. Peyton's Place agreed to match the quotation, an order was placed on 16 April, a contract formed, and at Peyton Slades request the order was paid in full by check immediately. Accordingly, we have a contract for the supply of goods at an agreed price. 2. Around 2 months after the placement of the order, I was informed that Peyton's Place had made a mistake and required an additional payment of $891. The amount has now been revised to $405, and Peyton Slade has advised that she "[has] no intention of telling Horizon to complete [your] order until [you] remit the rest of the money". This threat is wholly unreasonable and tantamount to extortion (and is made despite the fact I have repeatedly stated that it remains unclear to me how the $405 is broken down). 3. Given that we have a contract for the supply of goods at an agreed price, it is not open to Peyton's Place to unilaterally demand further payment. If a mistake was made by Peyton's Place then this was a risk taken by Peyton's Place and not one that I should have to bear. That said, it is certainly not my intention to place Peytons Place out of pocket, and I said that I would remit further sums and have reasonably requested a proper breakdown and order form. I am interested in moving forward, and without prejudice to matters set out above, so I proposed the following options to Peyton Slade:A. Peyton's Place refund the amount paid for the blinds in full without deduction. ORB. Peyton's Place provide me with the listed items below following which I will make payment of $405 by credit card:(i) A detailed explanation for the additional request of funds(ii) An invoice against which to make payment (iii) A firm date for delivery of the blinds agreeable to me.I made the above proposals entirely in the interest of seeking an amicable and swift resolution to this matter. Peyton Slade has not responded. As a result I am seeking assistance from the Revdex.com for resolution.Desired Settlement: 1. confirmation that my complete order is in production with Horizon's (meaning that Peyton has notified them to proceed with the order)2. Peyton's Place refund the amount paid for the blinds in full without deduction. OR 3. Peyton's Place provide me with the listed items below following which I will make payment of $405 by credit card:- A detailed explanation for the additional request of funds- An invoice against which to make payment - A firm date for delivery of the blinds

Response:

After speaking with [redacted] from the company on 7/22/13 he stated the customer had a special order and any chages to the order can result in some delays. Customer's blinds will be delivered tomorrow.
