Complaint: 10715615
I am rejecting this response because:
They told us the cars were under a 30  day warranty and as we were signing the paperwork he said that since we paid cash the warranty was void. Gars transmission said the problems the vehicle had, which they found less than 3 weeks after purchase, was from the previous owner towing too much than the vehicle could handle. We did not tow with it. The oil leak was noted the day after sale when the ground under vehicle was drenched. We took it to the dealer and they told us to drive it 20 min a day to make the valve swell up from just sitting at the lot. This is not what the oil leak was coming from. Again, the price posted on the truck at the lot was $6395, but was listed as also having power windows, power steering, and other elements it did not possess, which the dealer admited and said they would reduce the $6395 posted price. We could have bought from a private party for $3000, lots were for sale in our area, but we wrongly believed that a car dealer sale would be more reliable.

This letter is a response to A[redacted]'s complaint about purchase of 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. At the time of sale he offered to pay cash for the truck, a total of $5,000 dollars. The truck was listed on the lot at $7,495, plus fees of Tax, License, Smog and DMV documentation. This was A[redacted]...

[redacted]'s third visit to the car lot. Each visit he was quoted the price of $7,495, including fees. He was also told that the truck was a good running vehicle and it is. He still wanted to pay only $5,000. In the conversation we agreed that the sell of the truck at that price, cash only plus fees, for that price only the safety items: brakes, lights, wipers, seat belts would be covered under the 30 day warranty and A[redacted] agreed. (initial of A[redacted] on contract). If he would have agreed to the selling price of $7,495 the extended warranty would have been in affect.

As stated by the Business. This letter is in response to Complaint ID# 10715615. The Customer was made aware at the time of sale that he could take the vehicle to his mechanic. He also chose to agree to our basic warranty and declined to buy a warranty. He states in one of his responses to you that he looked up the Kelly Blue Book Value with mileage and it was only 5000.00 so that is why he offered 2500.00 under dealer asking price. Unfortunately he was wrong on 03/14/15 Kelly Blue Book Value was ....Total Lending 4427.00 / Suggested Retail 7358.00. We strive to ensure that all our vehicles are safe and in good condition before they are put on the frontline of our lot. After a sale we do not know if our customers abuse the vehicles when driving them. There is a chance that the Customer could have caused the damage to said vehicle; obviously there were no problems at time of purchase. Enclosed is the previous correspondence, signed warranty’s and AS IS section on the sales contract that the Customer signed. We regret the Customer had a mechanical problem with the vehicle he purchased from us, but we did offer him options that he rejected. Feel free to contact us anytime. Beat Regards [redacted].

Review: I bought a 2001 Chevy Silvarado from this company and 3 weeks later I took it to a shop for an oil leak the sales company was unwilling to fix (although the salesman promised that the truck had to be in perfect running order to be sold by a car dealer, which is why we purchased thru them rather than a private party) and the whole rear end was bad and ready to blow up at any minute, and was recommended that we have it towed home to avoid a critical accident. The expense to replace the rear end and oil leak total more than $2,500. The dealer was unwilling to help in any way when approached with our concern.Desired Settlement: Pay for repairs, as car was sold under false pretenses
