In response to the above complaint,We "Gingrich Roofing and Siding" performed construction services for this homeownerThe work included the re-roofing of their house roofsThe work was completed per the insurance estimate that was paid to them by their insurance companyIn this insurance work
scope was the replacement of a copper roof on the front of the houseWe removed the bay window copper roofing and replaced with new copper roofing and accessoriesThis once again was included in the insurance work scopeThe original copper roof was installed before the stucco was installed on the house wallsThere were no termination bars, weep holes, or exposed wall flashings onto the copper roofIn other works the masons ran the stucco right down to the copper roofing pansSo in order to properly install or re-roof this section of roof, new counter flashings had to be installed on the stucco to properly flash the roof in mentionThe homeowner stated that the look of the new roof "ruined" her lifehowever this is the proper and manufactures recommended way to install while involving a replacement roofThere is no other way to replace the roof other than how we did itHowever the homeowner is comparing our copper replacement roof with another roof down the streetI mentioned to her and pointed out that the roof down the street is against a brick wall as hers is against a stucco wallThe roof down the street used a step counter flashing method which of course is recommend for brickOn a stucco application we do not step our counter flashingsThis is not the proper method and would lead to leaks and problems in the futureNo roofing companies that I am aware of would approve or install the copper roof that she is wishing to have. I mentioned to the homeowners that I would be more than happy to meet with them and there insurance company to go over this issue as we completed all work correctly I would also like to mention to their insurance that Gingrich Roofing and Siding has still not been paid in full for this projectThere is still an outstanding balance of $2,on this projectWe completed the work per insurance scope and payout, yet have not been fully paidSo Gingrich will not be performing any "polishing" of any copper as we understand the homeowner is not willing to be realistic in solving this matterOnce again myself the owner of Gingrich Roofing and Siding am willing to meet any interested party at this particular projectThe homeowner is completely unwilling to have a civil discussion on this matter, and I had to leave their home when things got out of controlThe homeowner is completely impossible to talk with as she thinks we completely ruined her life, while Gingrich will admit no guilt on this situation and I will handle all future aspects of this complaintWe have pictures of all the mentioned copper roofs and are willing to submit those upon requestOne of our workers were bit by the homeowners dog while working on the projectUpon request of vaccination papers on the dog, the homeowner rejected the requestTo this date we have not received any paperworkWe at Gingrich take pride in all our work and I would like to resolve this matter as soon as possibleAs for the accusation of not responding to the homeowner, I last left the residence after being yelled and screamed atI have not heard from them since then which was back on January 7thI assumed they settled on not paying us the remaining balance, however it appears they want us to come back to do additional work, on top of not being paid the first timeIf we are such a horrible company why does she want us back to do more workAlso we installed the new copper roof, however that does not mean we cover all future maintance on the the copper roof, especially when we haven't even been paid for the copper roof it self
