I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowI resent the fact that they are saying I was rude and raised my voice and disturbed the restaurant customers I never once raised my voice and the restaurant clientele were at least or feet away from the front desk As for my using a cane, I do use one but generally not if I am only walking a few feetI also use a rolling walker with a seat, if I am going to be walking a long distance Also, my sister-in-law who was with me, uses a cane I also have a handicapped plate on my car
When I checked in, I again asked if this was a handicapped room and was told it wasWhen I called about the air conditioner, I told them this was not a handicapped room
Do to my knee problems, I am unable to get up off a low toilet and I cannot lift my leg high enough to get in a regular tub, especially when there are no handrails That is why I asked for a handicapped roomIf the toilet had not been close to the tub on one side and the wall on the other,(It was a partial wall so I could grab hold of it) I would not have been able to get up off the toilet without helpi was able to push myself up by pushing with one hand on the tub and holding onto the wall with the other hand As far as the air conditioner, you had to climb on a chair to reach the controls This is not a safe practiceEven the man who came over to turn it on had to climb on the chair, which was conveniently sitting under the air conditioner for this purpose
I did not call them again when I saw the dirty sheet, as I thought once they closed the restaurant, they were not available, as we were told in order to get the room we had to be there by I guess I should have at least tried to call My mistake.
I did not ask for a full refund in my complaintI said I thought 1/of the cost would be appropriate The man, who said he was the owner, said that according to Wisconsin law, a handicapped room meant there couldn't be more than one step to the room and the doors had to be " wide I told him that was not what handicapped was at other placesI still did not raise my voice He told me to take it up with the Wisconsin authorities I have stayed in several handicapped rooms and they have the higher toilets and if they do not have what is called "roll-in" showers, they at least have handrails in the tub area
I resent the fact that they are saying I came in yelling and was rude and disturbed their restaurant clientele If this is what Mr*** told his wife, he out & out lied.

I am enclosing the balance of the amount Mrs*** wants, to resolve the matter of her handicapped requested roomWe feel this is the only way she will be appeased in the matter.

We have been in business for years and this is the second complain issue we have received from the Revdex.com in all that time Thank you for giving us the
opportunity to tell you about our experience with Ms***
The customer called us in the late evening asking if we had a downstairs room open and was it handicappedI replied yes, we had a room open on the bottom floor I told her it was handicapped accessible, (which I thought meant wheelchair accessible) She came in and registered She did not have a cane, walker or wheelchair, but I thought whomever was with her was the one needing help to get inShe called me when she got to the room and wanted to know why there were no phones in the room, to which I replied, because everyone has cell phones these days and our prices do not reflect extra services We had been having degree nights so the air was not on She said the room was stuffy so I told her someone would be right over to turn her air on (which was about minutes) That was the last we heard from her until morning, when she came in raising her voice about the horrible experience she had in the room with no handicapped bars
I can verify that the sheets and towels are laundered and dissinfected after each guestI do all the laundry I did not know their may have been a stain on some towel that we missed so she may have been correct on that She was making a great fuss which was disturbing our breakfast guests My husband asked her why she stayed once she was in the room, if she was so uncomfortable, we would have given her her money back then but not after the fact She said it was too late to find some place else, so he gave her ten dollars back to get her out of the buildingI do feel we were fair to her in the refund of more than ten percent of the cost of the room I do not feel she would besatisfied if she got the entire amount back and it is the principal of the experience We tried to please her but didn't and customers like that are not an asset
